I think the ear effect is a side effect of ND using cheap but good looking (by game standards)...
seems VFX_Veteran scares the shit out of people :p

Also it's nice to see a serious improvement over the E3 demo, which frankly looked quite goofy at times

Arrgghhhh those harsh shadows and lighting effects on characters. I hate that every time I see that in games

You have to understand that with his experience in offline rendering the narrative of games looking great in middle-of-the-pack hardware (consoles) doesn't make much sense. Many people have this idea that the only way to improve graphics is by brute forcing and everything done on consoles is cheap looking, bad framerate, bad IQ and so on. Can't really argue with someone having that attitude, so it's better to clarify (by game standards, on consoles, on Ps4) to not start a meaningless argument "BUT PC" BUT 4K" etc.

Spoil another environment it is impressive. If tyou don't want to spoiled don't watch this video. Wait the Gamersyde version.

AI is great

With all this crazy stuff going on in this game, this is since a long time a game which makes my eye brow raise. Seems to me that we have a new number 1.

let's see how it turns out...

I dunno, some scenes (melee fighting) look good, but others look disappointingly, I dunno, uninspired? Have been underwhelmed since E3 showing (this is mostly the same footage as E3)

There's bad animation too, the motorcycle jump part is cringeworthy. Around 7:04 of this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4wWMe85Dgo. But, I've always thought UC4 animation was often janky looking.

A good judge of these things is how much GAF hypes it, and, while paying lip service, even they aren't building any mountainous threads over this one's visuals. Yet. Maybe some new areas/colors will trigger it...

Dont get me wrong, definitely in the upper tier, top 20%, of games looks, with the usual very high production values. I am sure they have more to show.

Ehh, I'm not one for Uncharted anyway, beat 2, was fairly bored with it, although it's competent, solid (I'd rate 7/10). Also, it's a bit ridiculous how many times one man can JUSTTTTT save himself from falling to his death by a fingertip...the C-movie dialogue also gets pretty obnoxious to me after long enough.

I think I have YET to see a video game, any video game, with good banter gameplay dialogue, for the most part, (Halo 1? but after that it's awful every halo) but I digress.

I can't even understand how polished this is with everything which is happening on screen. look at other high profile titles coming out: they have shadows flickering, light leaking through geometry, characters clipping through walls, reflections at wrong angles, in a 240*180 resolution, Casper* anti-aliasing and so on. Uncharted 4 is on a completely different technical level. The true next gen feature is not the rope physics the SSS or the perfect animations, for me it's extreme polish

*casper the friendly ghost that is

With your critical eye, you are able to spot a single moment which you call bad animation. Looking at titles which you love (you can't name one game with better animation anyway) you probably would be happy to find one moment with good animation. But that's okay.
Also, if you think Uncharted dialogue is C-tier, you must have never played a halo or gears of war title. You are going to love quantum break btw ("Time is like a time-egg. I am going to fuck the time-egg" "you can't stop fate, but you can stop time. And if you stop time, you stop fate. I am fucking the time-egg" and it gets much worse)

My point: If you hate Uncharted then you must hate videogames in general. Or maybe just PlayStation videogames?

A bit picky are you not? Guess killing an enemy with a couple of shots and yet be able to absorv a lot of them, healing it out in a couple of seconds is not ridiculous for you.
Its a game man... a game...
Besides, it seems you were never a fan of "Future boy Conan", a japanese anime from my youth times, where the main character saves himself from death several times with it's foot pinkie

I am actually waiting for the Drake is a serial killer-thing to show up.

Btw it would be cool if they show a segment of drake being a mercenary early in his life, committing war crimes. That would shut the haters up ;-)

The dialog are at the same level than a good old action movie (Indiana Jones or Die Hard).

I ask how many time John Mc Lane or Indiana Jones escape death...

It is a game and an action game...

I disagree with you some people don't like Uncharted. I can understand it but dialog are far from bad like a good old 80's action movie.

Your friends all talk like Joss Whedon writes?

Sorry, I meant to say - gasp - someone isn't completely enamoured with ND's work? Burn the witch! Burn it! ;)
