Uncharted 3

Beautiful game is beautiful...I wonder how they work,as company...How they cram so much detail and finesse in their work in such, well, short time?I mean,I like the lighting,I like the character models and animations, but there is something filmic in this game that other games can't do.Its really really special, their artists must be on some kind of "development steroids".

okay this is not fair anymore. looks like the competition needs new hardware to compete :p

ND were telling the truth when claiming U2 did not fully use the PS3.
What will the god of war 3 team come up with next??

Wow, the final part of the video. ND seems really to know how astonish the gamers  by the way I have to say a thing here: yeah, ND know well how to push the ps3 hardware, no doubt here, but it's a mixed of maximize the stronger parts & total avoid the limits... an example? Unchy really lack of high quality ('medium') or good transparancies. Everything is low buffer; water reflections are artistical texture or low buffer, where the jaggies are masked with a proper 'customized' distortion of the wave (very smart but more artistical solution than tech, however I repeat, so smart & cheap; a lot of third parties could follow how example, like a-ehm bethesda, techland...) & sometimes this lack it's more than apparent... the jeep in any unchy ever missed the frontal glass in more than a single occasion, when is there, through it everything is jaggies & I'm not mentioned how the fire effects aren't at the same standard of the rest. Indeed, I found even GOW 3 a step up compared unchy.

Awwwwwww ! Goddamnit !! I saw it:devilish: ! I think I have seen the most awesomest part of the game already ! Damn !

They sure were right when they said they had an idea which could topple the train idea ! :p What do these guys eat ? They are so good at bringing their imagination to life with its whole vibe retained. Mostly we have to Imagine while playing(in other games) what the devs want to show there and we make do with whatever actually could be made possible in the game, but not here ! No Sireee ! They bring it to life just as they intended and you don't have to exercise your brain cells at all, just try to control your heartbeat which goes faster and faster    with excitement as the adventure unfolds !!!!! :p

I agree on the low buffer part, but i mean (not as a comparison!!) come on, even gears has that (and they have access to magical 10MB eDRAM remember ;) )
what to me is most amazing is that ND (and maybe also santa monica) are doing in realtime/gameplay what other developers are only able to achieve in trailers.
ND really aims for the stars and it shows.
I cannot even imagine what ND will do on the PS4 eventually

Im sure the game is longer than 50 mins.

Yes , but all the high points and jaw dropping moments won't be more than that together.

Yeah ! You don't have to watch awesomenes any more, you can play it in Uncharted games !

I still love the mini nuke explosion effect in Uncharted 1 though.....
Me too but were enough pixelated... however I have appreciated more these than the last in unchy 2

Well, probably aren't so impressive, but gears seem to use better buffer almost for sure in any chapter (& I don't counts the last); not impressive draws, I concur, but there are more pixels.
Haven't watched it yet, but its on gamersyde too:

I am sure it'll be better quality than the shit from GT.

Is ND going to show us the whole game before we even buy it? I mean, leave something for the poor soul who actually buys your game to experience and feel awe at.

I'm a little worried about that. I tries to explain me better: in unchy 2 pratically the more impressive sessions was all spoiled for 'PR' reason, I hope unchy 3 not repeat the same errors... by the way I remember a part with an horse, maybe there are more surprises than expected...

Precisely! AF is rather lacking this gen, leading to blurry surfaces that are supposed to be in focus.

The main problem is the bandwidth to texture memory (aside from relatively small texture caches on die)... Maybe it'll be solved next gen.

The noise has been deleted. Talk about 'trade-offs' is happening here, (started in an XB360 exclusive game thread for those thinking this sort of crap only happens in PS3 game threads).

Do you really suck at shooters or something? How are pvp multiplayer games not fair?? The best guy wins, it's not like the best guy has some awesome wallhack that makes him win. Everybody has the same possibilities ;)

people who complain about, Balance in pvp multiplayer SHOOTERs just suck. That's it. There is nothing stopping you from owning everybody aside of your skills.

Back to uc. I cannot wait for this! loved 1 & 2. The sp that is. Mp was not my cup of tea.

Comment to thread: why is there so many people here who go bananas when somebody doesn't think uc isn't one of the world wonders? I usually point out bullshots when I see them, but only in uc threads will this result in me getting flamed, even though bullshots are bullshots :-S

People can win using unbalanced mechanics or things not within the spirit of the game. Abusing easy to camp areas, spawn killing..etc. Things that may make you win, but may or may not be fun, or induce rage from other players.

I'm moderate. In WH, U2, MAG, I'd tend to come in the upper part of the table, topping it some games, being best player others, and getting mullered other times. I'm not capable of matching the uber players with their massive kill-streaks etc. I've been on both ends of hammerings.

They have access to skills and feats that lower players don't have. They can have body armour, shields, more powerful weapons, etc. So no, everybody doesn't have the same possibilities. If the games separated players of different rank then they wouldn't be imbalanced, but pretty much every game I've come across throws low level characters with limited options up against top-ranked characters with all the bells and whistles to be cannon fodder until they've ground their way up the ladder, although Uncharted isn't a huge culprit there.

The other issue is not factoring in skill level either. There are different skill levels of players, just like in sports, and no-one would dream of mixing them together. We don't throw countless regional football teams up against Man U to be destroyed week after week, but instead form leagues of similar ability teams. That way everyone gets a fair game.

We had a whole discussion on balancing MP games a while back, and I don't recall there being any answers, but I still uphold my right to complain about games not actually being fun because the developers make some odd choices that don't balance things well for the maximum enjoyment of everyone. :p That's why I'd rather play a game with mates against bots, where I know it'll be fun, rather in PvP where I never know in a round if I'll be on the team that pens the others in and boringly overpowers them, or I'm on the team that gets penned in, or there's a couple of amazingly good players dominating the game and I can barely move without getting killed, or if I'll actually have a fun game where the teams are balanced and there's a good sense of competition.

Woah... what happened in this thread. Looks like an aftermath of a disaster. ^_^

I don't think fairness is the ultimate goal, but fun is. As you as you have fun levelling up, it's all good. There can be so many elements that are unfair.

Even if you play against bots (like R2's 8P co-op), the AIs can be unfair against you. They have unlimited bullets, more numbers, etc. but you, or rather I (!), enjoyed it nonetheless.

really amazing, even if it's really just a trade-off ;)

But damn, sorry to say it but the game is getting 'predictable' in a way:
so drake is on a boat, plane, horse, train, etc. Imagine the most amazing things that could happen on those modes of transportation... Yep, that's what's probably gonna happen in the game. It's still the most amazing game probably, and maybe personally the graphical landmark of this generation, but I'm afraid I might get bored if the game is too much adrenaline filled. Anyone feel me?
