Ubisoft financial report: PS3 to launch Late Fall 2006

Lol, you are actually assuming that PS3 won't be able to pull good launch like X360.
who said the x360 will have a good launch ? When did i say that ? The xbox will have o 6 months before the ps3 comes out if its indeed a march launch . Which means it doesn't matter what the x360 launch was like , there will be many more games within those 6 months

PS3 is not gonna be released until spring 06 at the earlist so E3 2005 is simply too early to show anything playable for that manner.
Same time diffrence between the ps2 launch and the e3 before it .

X360 didn't look like they were ready for good launch either by looking at their E3.
I dunno , having games certianly helps . Esp since they were playable and many were on the show floor. Of course some say wait till tgs . and sony will have some . Though i highly doubt it .

I'm glad that you said you doubt instead of making it your truth. 6 months ago jvd we couldn't have said how many games were coming out for the X360. So yes you do need to wait until TGS. I think its in September right? Thats about 6 months before the PS3 will launch.

MS showed games 5 months before its launch, so that goes to show you really don't know until you give it time.

True, but difference is that Sony is also aiming worldwide launch also, so I believe their actual software development schedule is ahead. And unlike PS2, PS3 is easier to develop thanks to Nvidia's set of tools, so I don't see PS2's situation repeating this time.

I see no proof of a world wide release . Actually all i've seen is reports of a japan launch in march and a miss translated quote of spring for usa . which was proven wrong later on if i reacall correctly

Hardcore gamers are on a whole other lvl than hardcore fans. They transend the one console mindset .

Yeah, but in terms of their likelihood to buy the system at launch, they're the same! Early adopters are mostly either hardcore gamers in the platform agnostic sense, or hardcore fans of the system. And yes, some technophiles perhaps.

I'm not even sure what we're arguing about :?

Even the psp launch line up was lack luster

Wow, compared to the other handheld launch a few months earlier, the PSP launch line up was MUCH better.

Anyhow, as far as I know (which isn't much as I don't know anyone on that team very well) we're still pushing for a Spring PS3 launch window.

I dunno about that , i bought 2 ds games and 2 psp games . I wouldn't call either launch steller . The psp had a bunch of games i played on the ps2 or psone years ago. The ds had some games i played years ago and some games i never wanted to play to begin with .

For america ?

Why is everyone arguing over this chart? Anyone with half a brain can see that it has wrong information. There is no way Revolution will launch in Europe before US or Japan.   ;)

I wouldn't be so sure about that.

Iwata and Miyamoto said Nintendo has shifted in a higher gear to make sure Europe doesn't get last anymore. (to avoid situations such as Animal Crossing, but also because Europe has gotten much more potential over the years)

We've seen this with titles such as The Minish Cap (before Japan and USA), and Another Code (3 months ahead of American launch), and I wouldn't rule out the possibility that Revolution could launch simultaniously in Europe and America, or simultaniously in Europe and Japan.

I know that you live in Europe and all, but it aint gonna happen. PH said Revolution may follow the DS launch schedule so Europe will be last. So it's going to be Nov for the US 06, Dec for Japan 06, and Mar 07 for Europe.

Yeap I have to agree with PC on this one. *Did I just say that* I don't see that launching in Europe first.

But the PSP had 25 games in its launch window.

and ? ds had 10 in its launch window and i bought the same amount of games for both because they both had the same amount of good games .

The psp doesn't have many original games , i believe there were 2 original games at launch , the rest were ports
