There's 15,000 Xbox 360 auctions on ebay

Thats funny. I didn't think there'd be that many, jesus.

I guess if they can sell 'em for a profit, more power to 'em.

most of these damn scalpers are probably gonna end up loosing money with all the fake bids. if you look at whos bidding on these machine most only have 1 or 0 next to there name. my guess they are skyrocketing the price with no intention to pay. but the seller will still get charged the listing % cost on his credit card. they can refute this chrage saying the buyer never paid but if you have to many challenges to the charge from diffrent individuals over a certain amount of time ebay removes your seller acount becuase they think your trying to scahme ebay. i feel sorry for frist time sellers also since most my not know about the charge on there credit card until its past 30 days and they lost the chance to refute it.

When the XBox1 came out, I looked on ebay too, to see how many were selling and for how much. The X1 originally sold for $299, most of the bids I had seen were up to 7 or 8 hundred. The funniest thing I saw was someone selling the XBox box, just the cardboard box it came in. He was very specific on the point that it was just the box, for collectors. He had 30 some bids on it. When it closed, it sold for something like $480. Granted they all could have been bids to try and up the price, and maybe the winner never payed, but still.

Probably most of those people with 0 or 1 ratings bidding are only now bidding because they have never used ebay before, but want a 360 and think thats the only way to get one. I would guess there are a lot of people outside the US (did it ship in Canada) who are trying to get there hands on one now. It is actually good for ebay, not that they need the money.

It's a race to supply 360s. If even a little supply starts trickling in, these EBay scalpers will get burned. They'll be lucky to just get their money back. I want to be able to return the console in needed. Also I'd be worried about not getting a MS warranty.

I only managed one because I forgot my cell phone.

I really dont want to give it up, it's tons of fun, but on a lark I listed it on ebay with a 850 reserve and 999 buy it now. Just to see what happens.

So I'm wondering what has anybody heard about 2nd shipments? Because if I do sell it I'll want another ASAP.

I dunno, around Christmas you cant get much of ANYTHING at the stores. Even say, DVD players. So I'm guessing you are SOL on Xbox 360's till after Christmas. Unless MS actually ships tons. Even then the week before Christmas you'll be out off luck totally.

By the way, the auctions I looked at had mostly legit bidders, 15-20 bids, etc. So it isn't true that fakers are bidding, well, some of the really outrageous ones probably are of course. You can go check ebay for the fastest ending auctions anytime to see. Triniboys link shows they are getting plenty of real bidding action.

When I listed ebay listed the average selling price of Xbox360's and it was $727. That sounds about right to me from looking around. It seems 6-800 is what you can expect with occasional blips out to $1000+. Also depends on what all you have in the package. A lot of the buy it now prices were like $1200!

I would think, listing it like a week till Christmas with overnight shipping might also net you a killing..or maybe that's too late, I dunno.

I figure now's a good time to catch ebay mania while they're in the news. People will come to their senses soon enough.

Imagine if you had like 20! 300 profit per unit would be a given! That's 6,000 bucks!

Dammit! I wish I had planned ahead a lot :)

Now that I look at triniboy's link again though, it's changed back to not so hot.

Some bundles have like 5 games and aren't going for that much over retail. Maybe there is a glut..

Best bet is the core system. Prices are already so high, you're never going to make big money back on a premium pak plus a bunch of games and accessories. Because you're going to pay like 750 yourself. But I gaurentee you can sell cores all day long for 600.

here in new zealand, someone has already managed to import 2 systems. They are currently listed on our local equivalent to ebay, trademe.co.nz. They are currently sitting at $2700 and $3500 a peice, despite being region locked, and the $3500 unit not having any games.

The biggest irony is there is still a week to run on the auction, and no doubt more will be imported in that time.

there is one of the systems.

there is an ebay.co.nz too, but trademe utterly destroys it for ease of use so no body bothers with it.

hehe yeah I didn't actually notice that :)

it's been withdrawn by an administrator now anyway.... :devilish:

hmm. There is a kitten climing in my window...

Mine only ended up at 485. Which after tax I have 445 in it. Of course I didn't sell due to my high reserve.

Then again, it was a rush job ad, and I didn't inlcude any pics. I basically had my sister run the ad and write the description. I'll probably try again handling it myself.

Sorry to resurrect an old topic but I was browsing Ebay just for the fun of it (and to see if I could spot a 360 at a reasonable price), and I come upon a Premium selling for $500. Now I think to myself, "That's a good price considering it's on Ebay!" So I click on the link, and I can't believe what I see. Someone is selling the BOX and the PLASTIC WRAPPERS for the accessories for $500. The person pleads you to buy the box so they can pay for their 360 purchase...

I thought I had seen it all, but people selling a box for $500 definately makes my top 10 list for dumbest things I've ever seen. :D

There was another thread about a guy selling a box. It wasn't even an actual xbox360 box, just a box he wrote Xbox360 on. The auction ended at $611 and the seller was banned. ;)
