The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt ! [XO, PS4, NX, PS5, XBSX|S, PC]

Cyberpunk is work in progress and the team is working on it. But I think it might be 2018 game instead of 2017 ...

IIRC,CDProjekt Red team was on Witcher while CDProjekt Black team was on Cyberpunk. But, yes, they say its a 2017 game. I am guessing CDPBlack is a smaller team and now all of the Red team will also jump in, bar the ones working on the expansions.

Eurogamer are reporting on the imminent 1.07 patch for all platforms:

Patch notes:
  • A new, alternative (optional) movement response mode for Geralt.
  • A player stash for storing items, available in various locations throughout the game. Stash locations are marked on the player's map.
  • Crafting and alchemy components no longer add to the overall inventory weight.
  • Books are now placed in a dedicated tab in the inventory and books that have already been read are properly greyed out.
  • Multiple sorting options are now available in the inventory.
  • Alchemy formulas and crafting diagrams can be "pinned", meaning all components and ingredients required to make them will be conveniently marked in the Shop panel.
  • Dozens of fixes for quest related issues, both major and minor.
  • A few performance enhancements, including the optimisation of FX, scenes and general gameplay.
  • Various improvements to horse behaviour.
A good bunch of changes here.

CD Projekt RED has released a new 2.2GB patch for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. However, this is not the highly anticipated 1.07 patch. As CD Projekt RED's Lukasz Babiel said, this update is basically the game's artpack (artbook, soundtrack, map, manual, wallpapers etc.).That's an update of our artpack (artbook, soundtrack, map, manual, wallpapers etc.). You can check them out by going to: Properties (from Library view)->Local files->Browse local files. Files are in main game folder.

Finished the game. To be precise, finished the main quest. I am lvl 36 now and it took me 44hours. There are still a lot of quests open (most of them 10 levels below mine).

In short: the game is great. I really liked the ending. I wonder how other endings are and if they differ much. But I am perfectly fine with my ending.

Congratulations to CDR :)

I hope that means no longer going to pick something up and then over-running it, turning around, over-running it again... damn momentum in his movements are enough to just quit and play something else.

I didn't discuss here, but in my ending
First Geralt said that CIri was dead but it was a bluff to Emhyrr and Ciri became a witcheress with a beautiful sword I gave her, Emhyr died, Geralt and Yen went away, Baron went with his wife to blue mountains, Radovid started witch hunting on mass scale. I don't understand how Ciri can live a life as a Witcher cos everyone would recognise her, couldn't get that
I was level 35 or 36 with around 90 hours when the main story ended. I am happy with my end except the Radovid part, things got very ugly there but how was I to know ? !

What happened in yours? :)

I was very surprised by someone who said
Ciri became the mpress in his game  because I don't understand what I did that she became a Witcheress in mine ! I thought it was an automatic fate of Ciri

Oh and BTW, I never posted the link here :
CGtantra published my review, actually they asked me to review it : http://cgtantra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36656

Best part is they got news from CDPR that they, CDProjekt Red, loved my review :p ! I felt elated !

That was me. There is no predetermination for Ciri, her fate is entirely the result of a lot of decisions that you make throughout the game. I own the official guide and have read the decision trees and some key decisions can send her down one significant path or another and other fates are dependant on the culmination of a lot of little decisions. They're well explained in the guide and make sense.

There are fates for Ciri other than the ones you and I experienced!

Actually, the outcome of your game - at least as far as Geralt's relationship with Ciri is concerned - basically comes down to 5 pretty damn arbitrary choices. Whether you get a a super happy ending, or what can only be described as the biggest downer to ever occur in a video game, literally depends on you guessing correctly at least 3 out of 5 times.

There are a couple of other choices determining just how happy your ending will be, but it mostly boils down to 5 little choices that don't really seem particularly important. I also got "the best" ending, but only by a hair. Would have been pretty bummed otherwise to be honest.

That is one thing Mass Effect 2 did really well. The outcome of the final mission was entirely dependant on your diligence and decision making skills as a commander. In TW3 it's basically blind luck.

They want us to remember/realize that control is an illusion
...just kidding CDP is not that deep!

I don't think the choices are at all arbitrary, they are very much a test of character and attitude. For people wondering what the hell we're talking about, there are some situations where you are with Ciri and she'll react to something in way that I would describe as petulant (but which others may interpret differently) and there are choices you can make which is effectively a reaction to Ciri's behaviour, that results in a change in her behaviour that play out differently.

Whether you get a a super happy ending, or what can only be described as the biggest downer to ever occur in a video game, literally depends on you guessing correctly at least 3 out of 5 times.

This is an interesting take that assumes that other players are participating in the game only to achieve an outcome that you feel is a happy/acceptable/right one. Surely the point of a branching RPG is for the story to play out according to your actual choices. If you're only after one particular outcome, where's the fun in making any decisions at all? You may as well play a game with a scripted story and one ending.

There are a couple of other choices determining just how happy your ending will be, but it mostly boils down to 5 little choices that don't really seem particularly important.

They are very much seemingly unimportant decisions which shows how conflicted Ciri was that seemingly minor things she later reflects on could swing her end game decision.

I also got "the best" ending, but only by a hair. Would have been pretty bummed otherwise to be honest.

I don't see what others are describing as the "best ending" as actually being the best - at least as far as Ciri's fate.

Ciri becoming a Witcher seems to be some folks preferred outcome. This would result in Ciri saving a lot of lives, however Ciri becoming Empress means she will influence the lives of thousands - tens of thousands - in a positive way. This was my Ciri's decision and her dialogue for this ending made it very clear she considered this to be very worthwhile and that was very much her decision, which I did not try to contradict.

And this was my take for my Geralt in my play though. I urged Ciri to be independent and make her own decisions, while remaining as neutral about her future as I could be. I steered any conversations about this back to what she wanted. Then I supported those decisions.

In terms of the minor swing decisions, I didn't tolerate her petulance and sulking. You basically have the choice of tolerating and indulging this behaviour or not. It's classic parent decision making. I think these were very subtle and clever ways of steering some of the outcomes. This is very much like actual parenting. Buying present A or B on a birthday will less likely influence behaviour, but your persistent reaction to a child's negative behaviour will.

In TW3 it's basically blind luck.

It's not luck, it's a reaction to how you react to her behaviour. Or not. Personally I think the outcomes say more about the player's character than it does about Ciri. Of course there is no "right" outcome that you have to have "luck" to get. You make choices. There are consequences. Just like life.

The game is really great! Didn't know the endings could be so different...nice!
There are 36 distinct outcomes for the world but they're actually combinations of smaller groups of outcomes affecting different key characters or places in the game.

For example character A may live or die. If they live there may be different outcomes for their life depending on your actions, ditto different outcomes in their death and how it came about. Similarly some central characters fates have a huge impact on the world.

Many of these consequences are very difficult to predict but as I said above, I think Ciri's fate is very much tied to the character of the player. Her life literally is in your hands but not in a conscious way where you get to save her from falling into a ravine, but in the more subtle way of bringing her up as a parent and how you interact with her in what are trying times for her. If you're not paying attention, or have no empathy for her then you could miss something critical.

Cool, I got the ending

- Ciri lives and becomes a Witcher
- I killed Radovid, so Nilfgar won
- Baron killed himself
- Gerald and Yen went away and stayed out of trouble for their rest of the life enjoying their lifes

Imo, the best ending! :)

Exact same ending here, loved it! Only thing i would change is

I would not save the tree a second time as it is in fact an evil spirit

And i also have

Ceryl as the ruler of Skellige

Easily my fav RPG the last couple years, and to get to play this and Bloodborne within a span of few months... 2015 is going to be great i tell you.

No shortage of candidates for GOTY already and plenty more candidates to come.

@RenegadeRocks
Great review! Mirrors my opinion of this game even though I haven't finished it yet. Barely 120h in according to GOG and only now about ready to leave Skellige!
BTW Re-mortgaging Kaer Morhen joke from Yen was great as were many other little pins she gave me recently :D
