@RenegadeRocks wow your PS4 scratch like mad. But im sure you handle it with care right?
mine scratch a lot too despite my careful touches (more like i never touch it other than when changing HDD).
btw that awesome sticker, i think i want it printed on transparent sticker
Wow, that's some appallingly superficial opinion on women (even fictional women) to post. The main female characters (Ciri, the sorceresses, Priscilla, Cerys) are strong, independent and powerful. They aren't included to look pretty or be rescued. Maybe you should play Mario, where you can rescue Princess Peach, who sounds more like your kind of woman
I love women. They are strong of course, I am not saying they aren't, in fact you don't feel like you can lose a battle at all when they are around --flaw. I actually liked Vesemir more or the lovely girl of my favourite quests in the entire game, a Towerful of Mice.
She's actually suffered, she is actually interesting, she is something and I'd become evil for a woman like that.
In MY opinion, if I was Geralt I'd go with Ves and fight along her for the freedom of Temeria, it's the most idealist and the thing I identify the most with in the game.
Triss is actually fine for the most part, but not quite there either. Yen is very pretty and strong but the game warns you about sorceresses. Keira is just...well, I can't stand her and had to save her once.
Ciri... Ciri is an okay girl. But she doesn't seem interesting to me in the cinematics, because the expressions need work. When something worries her she just sniffs the same way all the time.
I never wanted to protect Ciri, not voluntarily but because when you play controlling her, she is sooooooo badass that you wonder why should she care?
I LOVED Ciri by the time the game I ended and yes, I supported and comforted here all along, made her laugh and all that ! Those moments were actually good and remembering them during the end made me smile again. Knowing that those little moments are actualy what made Ciri made her last decisions is wonderful. Love is a great motivation for everything. Knowing that she loves me, its wonderful ........Even though all fathers in games are Joel now and all daughters are Ellie to me, but Ciri and Geralt held their own.
and I disliked Triss for the weepy girl she was all the time. I don't like Yennefer, but that comes from the books too, she is too ambitious and doesn't care that much about Geralt, it seems and Geralt also voices that opinion in the game too ! But then, you love someone and that someone has a strong attitude towards the world, then so be it. Also, if you know her backstory from the books you will be more emphatic to her. SHe is actually 90 years old and is a deformed hunchback who was thrown out of her home for being ugly and deformed. Its magic that makes all sorceresses look all tucked up. One can't really blame her for having a vengeful attitude towards the world.
As for the other sorceresses, th ebooks clearly show they are all mean and serve their own purposes, thats how they come accross in the game too. Remember, none of them are young, they are all old witchy jaded women who want power because they know they can have it if they try. They don't need Geralt or the kings for that matter and that shows in their attitude.
Thanks for the explanation, RenegadeRocks. You don't need to justify Yen. But your post is excellent, information wise. I actually met a hunchback woman when I was a kid, she was a neighbour in the village I was born and her actual name was Maria da Cuca, and she was not vengeful towards the world, she was very peaceful.
But that's besides the point. I could "fall in love" with secondary female characters in the game, but the main one are well shown -if they were strong but also amusing..-, and I loved Yen in the initial chapters, not so much afterwards. Still I just think that this game has some of the best ever secondary games on an RPG, while the main storyline...
Btw, @RenegadeRocks , your post reminded me that I must read the books this summer, as I promised myself. I like this series very much -especially TW1- and CD Projekt, Bethesda and Blizzard are some of my favourite companies, for a reason, so any lore from them is worth absorbing.

Yea, I don't know how it got so scratched, must be dust, even I was surprised last month when I saw the scratches when I opened it for changing the HDD. Dusty place, our town and its summers, so. Otherwise I take care of it like my own child !
As for the sticker, it comes with all the Witcher 3 copies, two of them actually, don't know where to put the other yet, just got this idea of turning my ps4 intoa Witcher Limited edition yesterday , lol ! BTW, the sticker is grey so gels very well the ps4, the pic makes it look very bright, it isn't. Standing 3 feet away, it actually does look like a special edition ps4 now !
I want a T-shirt with that medallion on it !

Not really justifying Yen, I don't like her behaviour either, but thats the way she is ! The fiction is like that , with Yen being a very practical person who doesn't show off her love. Although, rarely mentioned in books, she does love him a lot, BTW, another reason she is so troubled is because Sorceresses can't have babies and she wants to ! She even tried to kill a special Dragon once because there was a possibility of reverting the infertility. She isn't what she seems like.
The fiction is strong and CDPR cannot just make them warm and sweet. THey have been very true to the books and I was very surprised by that !
You always manage to make me laugh. Save stuff here, I am going to tell you. I am the typical guy.., beach stuff strutter, your typical beach cocky guy.
I like to feign. Go near beautiful girls sunbathing and pretend that I stumbled over and fall on them.
Other times I like to be helpful. When a beautiful girl is at a distance from an object and someone is calling her to get it, but the path is sloppy -or something similar- I usually say "I can help you!!". So she looks at me and pays attention to me.

Excellent stuff, thanks. That's the kind of thing that I wish they developed more in the main story in the game. Yen is a perfect stranger at first. And I was head over heels for her. As the story went on I felt more disconnected about the romance stuff. Because she just becomes then a woman on a mission --like this great song, that reminds me of Yen in the game.
I'd just want the main story to develop that part of Yen, my romance of choice. I don't hate her. My Xbox One showcase is The Witcher 3 picture with Yen saying that's right, she looks stunningly beautiful in it.
Plus CD Projekt could just perform a Bungie, and did what Bungie did with Halo Reach when they went off the tangent and didn't follow the actual Fall of Reach story.
They could find a cure for Geralt and Yen to become your typical couple, so they marry, they can die, and they get old at a normal rate. And they could have children. But the story was all about Ciri for the most part. I love CD Projekt, love GoG, etc, but expected better from them when it comes to Yen and Geralt.
It got to a point where I forgot about the love story of Yen and Geralt and I insist that in a second walkthrough, I'd choose her again, because of the looks, I just hope that all the females wear clothes like Ves, so to speak.
I've finished TW3!!! WOW! What a journey!
Took me only 139.5h
Final fight was tricky for me and I only cracked it after 3 fails.
The final string of quests was very engaging for me as well. I just spent most of my Sunday to see what's next and eventually reach the end!

On another note, there is new free DLC this week. A Zerrikanian dress for Ciri.
Wosh there was a new dress for Yen too. The two dresses she has now ae okay, especially the DLC one, just not too casual. Yen has to look amazing on a casual dress. What a woman she'd be in real life --I was born to adore women and to tend to them.
That's how The Witcher 3 looks with PS2 graphics.
The guy who created the video would be of awesome help when I tried to run The Witcher 2 on my laptop. In order for it not to reach high temps and run smooth, I tweaked the game manually in the ini and so on, removing shadows completely and running it at 16:9 resolutions as low as 768x432

heheh, that's nothing. If you are like me I am going to tell you a secret @DSoup . A set phrase that will get you a woman you love. Say you meet a woman and you say hi to her. This is the correct procedure:
"Hello princess. How are you? Princess..., for now. You will become queen when you are with the king. Me".
You are learning a lot, aren't you?
Back into the game, I listened to a extract from the books in audio format and I was enamoured with the narrative. It would be nice to have those lines in the game too. Like a normal conversation with a dragon -the extract from the books was based on it-. This game is so rich, and thanks for the European mythology, but there are so many civilisations and richness in Europe that some creatures are amiss.

Once I'd finished up at the tower, the game goes back to White Orchard during winter (hence the snow) where the finale plays out - this is interaction between Geralt and Ciri where Ciri tells Geralt her decision about her future.
