The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt ! [XO, PS4, NX, PS5, XBSX|S, PC]

I can confirm that with the lastest drivers to date, W3 is not "whitelisted" for Rebar if I believe nvidia Profile Inspector. I just forced it, I'll tell you if it helps me.

It doesn't look wet to me, it simply looks worn very smooth over time. You see this type of floor in a lot of old ruins here in the UK. It probably requires a specific type of stone too.

Honestly that scene looks great to me. Obviously way better than the non RT version.

Oooh I'm pissed. In 2020 I redone W2 again, with differents choices, better aligned with my taste. Aaand thing is, the main difference is bugged when imported to W3 and have no effect....

I choose not to killed Letho this time, to I should meet him in the quest at the Reardon manor. Turns out I don't, and it's a pretty well know bug. So, only solution is start again, but chose to simulate a W2 save. I'm mad. Hours and hours down the drain....

I'm not sure if this was bugged in a later patches, as my saves imported from TW2 worked correctly and I met Letho. My saves were imported on PC to the initial launch release game built.

I am still playing TW2. I liked TW1 and TW3 more, but the other day I restarted TW2 to see how it plays nowadays. With D3D9 it runs really bad for me, with Vulkan it runs like a charm, so performance is a non issue now. However, I prefer the inventory systems of TW3 and it takes some time to get used to TW2 in that sense, and the on corridors approach rather than open world.

Turning down texture quality brings more stable RT performance.

So it seems it have the same vram utilization logic as cyberpunk2077 (i.e. not conservative enough).

I wish game devs just place manually selectable max vram allocation... Or even better if it have vram usage bar like some games. Even better if it have recommended usage bar too like uncharted on pc

When I read about the problem, it seem pretty random. Even the same guys doing multiples runs importing the same save had different results :/

They are also investigating these issues, as of currently.

We appreciate every bit of feedback on The Next-Gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt you send our way! Please keep it coming while we work on addressing reported issues.

Here is the list of reported problems that we're currently investigating:

  • Game crashes on PC

  • Players who own the game on Origin are unable to update the game

  • Low Ray Tracing performance on Intel GPUs.

  • PlayStation 5 version of the expansions are unavailable in some regions

The stutters are horrendous. And I just tested out the newest hotfix which apparently fixes performance.

The game stutters in both DX11 and DX12 modes now RT on or off.

As far as I'm concerned, they've ruined the game now. How disappointing.

the new update make it runs even worse?

i had not tried playing with the new update, but it was running pretty much smoothly for me (after i lowered the texture resolution)

just played a few minutes, RT options are greyed out by the new patch -if someone know how to return to the previous patch in the GoG version, I'd be happy to know- and there were some stutters but not many. Framerate was about 90+fps but I can't be certain, it's just how it felt to me, very smooth -with RT disabled that's to be expected-

On a different note....

Just played today and didn't get stutter but get random hitches. As if the game was waiting for data stream.

RT performance bug that's also in cyberpunk2077 also became mu faster to occur.

Before the update, I can roam around with roach for hours before my performance dropped 50%. But now it happen in just around hal hour

But could be due to I'm in new zone

I feel like you should hotkey these phrases!

J/K and Merry Christmas! You know they'll fix it in time!

Digital Foundry analysis of new patch:

Very good analysis done by Alex showing the glossy cobblestones some people hate and others love ;)

I don't have much hope for cpu utilisation but I hope they can fix the weird camera stutter. I mostly got it in dense forests despite ok fps. Not so much in less dense areas.
