The memory broadband and its importance

Why all the comparisions between Cell and Xenon forget the memory bandwitch available for every core?

I am curious about it.

Well if its bandwidth to every core than Cell wins.

Its EIB ring is pushin close to 200GB/s

Because the internal bandwidth of the cores is just that, the bandwidth the corse have with their internal memory and to access the rest of the chip. The bandwidth to external memory is still the same 35GB/s (i think?).

It's like when people started talking about the 256GB/s bandwidth the Xenos has internally in its daugher die (i believe).

It's internal bandwidth within the chips themselves, nothing to do with memory bandwidth.
