This is found interresting (didn't see it posted here)

In the future, PlayStation’s YouTube channel will feature a user-generated content section within the channel, as publishers and developers take advantage of the PlayStation 3’s advanced application programming interface (API) to allow users to create game mode videos. SCEA will also launch game-specific enhanced YouTube channels, starting off with the highly anticipated game LittleBigPlanet™. LittleBigPlanet, which launches on October 21 will also have its own YouTube channel coming out in November and will feature cross-promotion with the LittleBigPlanet.com community.

Neat. PSN is shaping up slowly. Ties in with the new browser home page too. When they are done, we should see an expanded Playstation portal (PS Store + Playstation.com + PS Blog + user profile network). Integration with popular 3rd party Internet services will become more and more seamless. In the opposite direction, we may see some gaming press going Home.

Right now it's still a little spread out, but it's coming along "in a bottom up fashion".

There's a bit of confusion regarding that yet.Whether it will just have a dedicated channel in youtube or it will have video recording feature to upload to yoube is still in doubt.

What ?! It's released already ?

I stayed up a few nights and have lost track of time. Got Socom and the official headset during lunch time (It's charging now). Don't tell me I missed the launch date of LittleBigPlanet.

Apparently lots of retailers are getting them in now and selling them early, there is no enforced street date. I read people are getting them from Newegg, Target, BB (like me), etc. Supposedly only GS is sticking the to Oct 21 date.

I'll probably go home in an hour and start the tutorial. I also saw SOCOM at BB, I want the headset, but I'll wait for some reviews.

This thread is long so maybe this has already been answered....but has anyone played this game with a lady friend who typically doesn't care about games, and yet they ended up having fun playing it? I've been looking for a game to play coop with my wife who is mostly a non gamer, this game looks like it might be a good candidate.

Btw, circuitcity.com is offering a $15 gift card to anyone who buys LBP online.

I played the first few levels, I can see anyone who is not a small child being able to play this. It's simple yet deep. The music and art direction are top notch. I really wish the servers were up and some beta levels were ready :)

Even if nobody buys it, the file servers remain empty, and the co-op space stays a barren wasteland, it’s still a rock-solid platformer with enough levels and fun to justify your money. If you loved LEGOs and never lost that love for building and creating, you’ve got a lifetime of experimentation and play ahead of you. And if, as we suspect, the world falls in love with it, LittleBigPlanet is absolutely the best game on the PS3, the best game of 2008 on any console, and the best toybox you’ll ever get to play with.

Little Big Planet. it's Priceless.
I thought, when the game comes out, there would be people who won't like the sackboy and walk around like a snob with their noses high up and saying "I am a shooter fan, I don't play no kids games", but apparently no body can stop himself from loving the sackboy :p !

Personally I do not like LBP's art srtyle, not only is it not aesthetically pleasing to me, but I find it a little bit macabre.

I have the same criticisms against most Rare kiddie games.

You don't like realworld textures making up a little world? I don't think LBP looks like Rare games. Thankfully you're in the minority.

I've played online with blokes with their girlfriends. They love it.

PS. I now have the full game :)

I actually sat down and played both for a little over an hour and I am so torn which one to focus on. They're such extreme opposites.

LBP (everyone has seen the videos and heard the chatter, right?) is so clever and fun. I just love it! I want to dig in to the tools and make my own little level. My wife and I sat down and played the game for about an hour and it was just a blast co-op.

Dead Space is really something special (at least so far). It has amazing ambience, a stunning visual presentation and a very intereting story to tell. One thing I noticed, that really stuck out to me, is how well the character models are rendered and animated. The faces, in particular, are so well constructed and animated it just makes it a pleasure to watch. This could be this generation of gamers System Shock.

We're in for such a good 3 months. :)

For those in the US, you can buy 2 games and get a 3rd free at Toys R US (or tru.com).

The free game can't be more than the other two games in price.

Some people report being able to use a "placeholder" strategy since LBP isn't officially out until after the sale ends, on Oct 18.

What they do is get some games they don't plan to open or keep. The receipt will show 2 games at $60 each and the third at $0.

So next week, when LBP is out, you may be able to take your unopened games and trade one of them for LBP, depending on how the local TRU store handles such transactions.
