The Last of Us, Part 1 Remaster Remaster [PS5, PC]

Its a bit weird that still images show a huge upgrade but the difference is barely noticeable in the videos

I think a lot of it is people thinking the original release (And even the remaster) looked better than it actually did giving a false representation when put up against the remake.

in videos there are mostly comparison with prerendered cgi on old lou1 and real time cutscenes in lou1 remake ;)

Going from from what I've seen, it's a real mishmash of changes. Above, they're basically replaced the whole building with the only similarities between this and the PS3/PS4 game is the number and placement of the windows.

These latest pics of characters are great. I just don't see myself buying it this week.

Do I... ? :runaway:

Those do look much better, but for the life of me I can't think of anything I'd want to play less than this. Again.
I replayed it at least once a year since it's launch on PS3 (2013), but have not been able to go back to the older mechanics having played Part II.

Having just checked the Ordinances of Londinium, you don't have to replay it. :nope: After GTA V and Skyrim, this would the third game I've re-purchased across three generations of hardware!

Stupid compelling zombie mushrooms.

I just watched short tease on one of polish game review channels and apparently lou1 remake looks briliant, reviewer(who finished remake) thinks game is worth full price and compared it to Shadow of Colossus remake.

PC version will certainly be cheaper with added RT mod. Of course you'd need a $1000 PC to run at PS5 settings at least.

I'll wait for the free PSplus version in a few months.

A full upgrade of all core components to roughly PS5 equivalents by the time it releases (5600x, AM4 mobo, RTX4050, 16GB DDR4, 500GB NVMe) could probably be had for about $600-$650. If you're talking a full brand new system though including Windows, gamepad, case, K/M, PSU etc... then you're probably looking at around $850-$900.

First game with 40 fps mode at launch, bravo.

I remember conjecture on how many devs would even bother to give console gamers a fps/resolution option. People needn't have fretted, the graphics options in many AAA/AA games coming to this generation of hardware has been fantastic.

I have no doubt the game will look spectacular. But I will need some reviews from people that are not complete fanboys of the game. As some have mentioned in previous post, the gameplay has felt outdated for some time now. If it plays exactly the same, no amount of graphics polish will justify the price for me.

This is a key one for me as well. We know the controls are much improved, although sliding under/though narrow environmental objects probably isn't a thing, but I hope they brought over all of the enemy AI tweaks to make it more challenging to balance out the improved player controls.

The AI options in Part II were fantastic. You could make it as challenging as you liked. As I've posted before, my chief issue with the first game was the difficulty, in that increasing the difficult just made resources even scarcer which in turn just forced more and more stealth. In Part II you could have the same, if not more, resources available, but you could make the enemy more challenging, e.g. quicker to spot you, less fooled by stealth, more adept to hearing you make noise etc.

I hope they've brought this to Part I.
