The Last of Us, Part 1 Remaster Remaster [PS5, PC]

You guys have any idea how the heck I can cover this? I am seriously asking for advice here as all the user reports here point to such a myriad of issues, I am not even sure where to begin.

What are your experiences like?

No crashing so far for me.

What I would love to see in a video is a settings comparison to PS5 to find out exactly where it is in terms of PC settings so we can then gauge if certain PC GPU's are under, over or performing in line with expectations.

So frustrating. I could see how this works on my PC since I just got a new AMD video card, but the authenticator just runs and then CTDs.

So, I can't actually redeem the code for the game. UGH!

growing pains, eventually these issues will taper down.
Hoping for efficient streaming techniques like Sampler Feedback implemented in games soon. These games are basically trying to run next gen textures with last gen streaming techniques - no wonder VRAM is such a huge issue right now.

I think Clukos is encapsulating the issue quite well here. It's really just coming down to the porting process. The type of stuff you can get away with on PS5 is just not allowed on PC, and because of that, the porting process can be extremely long and painful to make something very specific and abusable, into something that will work into many different PC configurations.
 
Miller seems to be the type that writes on the playstation blog that sony is devaluing the platform when they announce a new PC port. Or is it the one sawing his playstation in half because a game comes out on PC ? :D

Looking at quite a few vides i'm wondering why there's no texture streaming being used to load a higher quality mipmap. I know their engine use to support it from Uncharted 1!

similar language was used to address horizon zero dawn years ago IIRC, and then they indeed fixed the game. albeit it took a month or two IIRC.

it launched with stuff like this rofl



maybe iron galaxy could consult guerilla? although this is a totally different game and engine, maybe guerilla can shed some light.
