15% gross margins. Is this simply because of the GlobalFoundries pay-off? I assume it is, otherwise the operational results are out of this world bad...

Edit: yes, looks like it is the case. Non-GAAP GMs are a more reasonable, though not stellar, 39%.

I think neither Richland nor Kabini/Temash or even GCN2 will launch in Q1, though, or at least not much more than a few days before it ends, so I fear this quarter may be quite brutal.

With any luck, Q2 will be good.

FWIW:
„Q4 2012 operating loss increased $209 million sequentially primarily due to the impact of a Lower of Cost or Market (LCM) charge related to the GLOBLFOUNDRIES Inc. (GF) take-or-pay obligation of $273 million. The charge was previously expected to be $165 million.“
[my emphasis]

Yes they paid off most of the Q1 charge due. There are still another couple of charges coming in Q1 for around $200m, $173m to GF. This will mostly be offset with the sale of the Austin campus though.

So what do they have planed to replace the FX line this year ? I have a fx-8150 that i'd like to replace with something that requires less power and produces less heat. Do they have any non apu upgrades coming ?

Yeah, it's called VIshera. It came out a few months ago.

There haven't been any official roadmaps with plans for an update to the FX line. We have no idea what AMD is planning to do with Steamroller, outside of using it in Kaveri. And I'm doubting that there will be a Financial Analyst Day this year, or at least not until Q3 or Q4. If AMD has an AFDS this summer, we might see an updated roadmap then. I'd imagine they would have an AFDS, seeing the upcoming release of their first HSA processors.

I'm speaking of a real replacement. Moving to the new FX line from what I have provides me almost nothing in terms of a boost. Want to reduce the noise of my case .

Then your case + coolers are the problem. I have an 8350 (@4,4 GHz for now) and the noise levels are more than acceptable. I am pretty sensitive to noise but I can sleep perfectly with my computer running F@H in my room.

If you want a modern and fast CPU within let's say 65W TDP, it is unreasonable IMHO to expect that AMD will be able to provide that in the next 2-4 years.

The FX 8300 should be about as fast as an 8150 (due to higher IPC and higher turbo) and has a 95W TDP to the 8150's 125W TDP. I'd be surprised if in practice it didn't save more than the rated 30W difference. Seems to be a vastly better overclocking proposition too.

If I had a Piledriver ready mobo I'd jump at the 8300.

The fx 8320 and 8350 are upgrades from the 8150 but even an ivy bridge i5 seems to be a better pick for me than it. Haswell may be even better.

I was hoping they had something planed for later in the year. What ever happened to them saying a 10-15 % increase each year in bulldozer performace ?

They got that, or a bit more with Piledriver, and they'll probably get the same over Piledriver with Steamroller later this year, but apparently Steamroller will initially be available on APUs only.

That's a little disappointing for power-users, but you have to admit that given current market trends, it makes sense for AMD to have such priorities.

they got that from PD will very little in the way of uarch changes, SR has a large amount of uarch changes, if they only get 15% consider it a dissapointment.

Does it ? How are the trinity apu's selling ?

I guess not very well. I am trying to research the market for a new 17-inch laptop for me and the best I can get is a Radeon HD 7650M with an Intel i-something, no trace from any AMD CPUs whatsoever..
Oh, and mobile Radeons are poorly available too. With NV 650M perhaps the most popular, and only 7650M and 6450M or something from AMD. No choice at all. :(
