The #1 reasons I hate the "next gen" transitions

While you can create a player in NBA Live, you can't play anything further than one season with any team.
You HAVE to be kidding me?! Ok, I can understand botching this between the SNES/Genesis=>N64/PS. And, well, maybe they did not plan well between the N64/PS=>PS2/Xbox. But come on! Like the code cannot be made portable... not like they did not know this would be an issue.

This we found perplexing, but EA claims there just isn't enough time to implement all the gameplay elements that were in previous generation games.
The code running the seasons and such is very simple for the most part. It is not graphically intensive or any such nonesense. Just recompile the Xbox1 code!!

IGN's "perplexing" is an obvious keyword for: Lazy, greedy, liars.

Since they completely rebuilt how the game looks, they'll be adding in the other game modes as the franchise progresses on the 360.
Translation: We have no interest in innovation and PUSHING the franchise every year. So we give you an upgraded 3D engine, and over the next 5 years will be reselling you the features you already had last gen.

What will be available to players soon after launch is a ton of downloadable content which players can access through the Xbox 360 Live marketplace.
Translation: But don't worry, AFTER you get BORED with our game--since we INTENTIONALLY left all the good features out that extend gampleay--WE are gonna charge you an arm and a leg to get some more life out of our title!

:devilish:

I hope NBA2K6 has a ton of features. I hate it when the blood sucking, non-innovative, relabel ship mentality RUINS an artistic, developing platform of media. Intentionally witholding features... grrrr

I am sooo happy with my PC right now...

Review sites better knock these games HARD if they have less features than the current console versions. Graphics are just 1 part of a game. Next gen should be more than about shiny graphics--gameplay, depth, features are just as important.

Cutting stuff back is a common practice, but EA is taking it to new levels.

Playing a pickup game from the menu was pretty cool, though.

Totally PWNED

So how does the game play? Pretty much exactly like NBA 2K6 on any other console, pretty well. Of course, this version is aurally and graphically more impressive, and fans will be happy to know that no gameplay features are being stripped out of the 360 version. Stay tuned for more updates.

So NBA2K6 plays like the Xbox version, but has upgraded graphics, and no features lost. It also is running at 60fps (with some dips).

Obviously new gameplay mechanics are nice--and desirable--but a large part of sports game are the draft, season mode, etc. The last time I played NBA2K I really liked it... sounds liked it. From the preview it sounds they loved the graphics (42 facial "muscles", shorts get wet, "overwhelmingly realistic", great effects like dynamic specularity, ambient occlusions, anatomically correct bones/muscles), it played like NBA2K6 (which they rated, gameplay, below Live), but has all the features in tact.

While I would have hoped for some new gameplay elements, but it looks like they juiced the graphics AND kept in all the features. KUDOS VC!

Who cares if Nash's hair does not flop, I would prefer season mode etc.

Hopefully reviewers take note... as well as consumers. VC should be rewarded for not treating consumers like idiots.

#1 Reason I hate Next Gen Transitions.

HOCKEY GETS THE SHAFT!!!

What? No love? No room in that big EA budget for a 360 Version of NHL 06 for launch???? Whatsup EA???

NHL2K6....I'm still hoping...don't let me down!

Acert:

"If you'd been wondering about it, we can confirm that Madden 06 for 360 will feature a franchise mode, one that in some ways is much deeper than its predecessor. For one thing, when simulating games, every play in every quarter in every game is fully logged. By scrolling through previous weeks' games, you can press down on the right thumbstick and get a massive amount of player, and team stats as well as detailed breakdowns of scoring summaries for any game you wish. For players who love spending time poring over stats and scouting opponents, this feature should be right up your alley."

Well dont forget that being EA and its on a next gen console, they will probably charge you $59.99 for it as well :) (Not counting cost of downloadable content)
