HoMM3 is a REALLY good turn-based game. Some enemy AI bugs though that can creep up in really long games, or there was in the ancient, original retail release of the game anyway. Maybe the GoG version has fixed those things? I dunno.
It had some kickass dynamic audio tracks too that game, the way the music style changed according to the terrain type you were in, and so on. It was very, very atmospheric.
I am making my way through the campaign of HoMM2, I am playing the penultimate map of the storyline already.
Then it will be time for Heroes of Might and Magic 3, which I am so excited about --I just played the intro, tested a windowed version utility and that was about it.
As for the bug fixes, I dunno about the GoG version, since for me the game might be flawless, but this neat utility fixes some things.

(I found it there, but the actual site to download it is here, it fixes some bugs, or so it says, dunno if they are the bugs you are talking about)

I just bought Might and Magic X Legacy, only played a few minutes and never played any of the earlier games.
When did you buy it? A couple of days ago? Where? The game is a month old.
For me it is becoming my favourite gaming franchise -I am planning on buying ALL the games and complete them.
I think Heroes of Might and Magic introduced an entirely new genre into gaming.
The game is so lovely. Give it a try, you will be completely hooked.
I played Heroes of Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes for the Xbox 360 before anything else in the series. But I didn't know what I was playing, I got it because it was free with the Games with Gold offer.
:smile2:
It was the only game I completed in the last year on the X360, it got me totally hooked -although I liked the 3 initial campaigns more than the last one, mainly the characters-.
I followed a Gamefaqs guide to get all the artifacts and so on.
But once I completed the game I didn't even check for earlier games, I just recalled a series named Heroes of Might and Magic existed and always loved that name, but nothing else. Still a good game but I am preferring the classics.
Until I watched someone playing HoMM2 on Youtube, and it was love at first sight!! :smile2:
It felt like it was the game -and the series- I was waiting for, and when I purchased it and the rest of the series I realised I wasn't wrong.
Heroes of Might and Magic is so inspirational and compelling that I want to try every game in the series.
Too bad I am like 20 years late in the case of the original HoMM, but the little I played it.. it is mostly a text based RPG. Still lovely though...
One of the best series from the mists of time there was, one of the best series there will be. :smile2:
