Hello, I'm building a media PC in my living room that will be built around the idea of having TiVo-like functionality, allow me to work on my anime music videos in the living room, and of course game. Right now I'm waffling between buying a used 21" monitor and a VGA box for my consoles, or getting a Sony WEGA 27" television, which will save on the hassle of the VGA box for my consoles and be a lot more enjoyable as a television set (I particularly am interested in its v-compression feature that compresses all the scanlines to support a 16:9 ratio without sacrificing image quality). How will the TV-out quality be on this television? How will gaming look on it?

I can get it for $150 cheaper locally, which is the reason I'm waffling on it. They were used for spectaters at the PGA Tour, but come with their full warrenty.
