so who is buying a xbox360 in 2 months?

Day 1. Im not a preorder guy.

 

My Premium Xbox 360 is already paid in full.

I will have the PS3 paid in full at least 3 months before it's launch, assuming that it doesn't cost over $400.

 

70 inch DLP perhaps? They are coming down in price. Under $5,000 now, I believe.

 

Samsung has a 71" 1080p DLP coming out for about $6,000. The only problem is it doesn't actually accept a 1080p signal. Sony may also be releasing a 70" SXRD set but I haven't seen anything confirming that yet.

 

My x360 is paid for, along with an extra wireless controller, PDZ collectors tin, Kameo, PGR3, Burnout Revenge (My son LOVES Burnout3); I am also seriously considering Oblivion. Hopefully something else gets announced this weekend that I will add to my list.
I have relatively small HDTVs 30" and 26", but I can't wait for HD-gaming. DIE jaggies DIE!

I'll only be buying next gen consoles after i get a nice HDTV. And that might be a long wait since i'm almost thinking about waiting till 1080p sets are "affordable", if they will ever be by the time i'm 40 here in the UK.

Why?, I'm sure all the games are going to be in 720p. You'l be better off, buying 720p display for now, as they are quite cheap, and use it for few years and then upgrade to 1080p.
I'm going to buy X360 close to launch, I'm not sure though am I going to import it or not.

 

Not likely...I still have to wait what the other two consoles has to offer. Like others, I usually wait months prior to purchasing--I just don't want buying version xx.xx.

 

I always wait 1-2 months to get a new console. Version 1 usually has problems.

Since I believe we will have PS3 before june, I´d get PS3 probably on... june 06

Well, if I can get PS3 on June 06, I´d NEVER get X360 in december 05 or january 06... I can wait 6 months and get something much better.

I also intend to get my first HDTV in may 06... probably a 720p 42" plasma. Then, in 3 years I can upgrade to a 1080p (when OLED will be really out), much cheaper then. And only in 2008 will have a good number of 1080p titles in PS3... so 720p IS enough for 2006 and 2007.

what problems did version 1 xboxes have?

Nothing except a sort of crappy Thompson dvd drive, however this wasn't fixed in 6 months, and the x360 has a Samsung/Toshiba DVD drive so quality shouldn't be an issue.

ON PS3 I would be more concerned about the quality issue, PS's have always been sub-par for reliability, and with the new CELL and Blu-Ray technologies, especially blu-ray, I'd be a little wary.

 

I would love to get a 360 at launch but I'm not really excited about the launch lineup to be honest. So i'm still in a wait and see mode. I may not get it at launch but soon after would be fine if the games get good reviews and there are enough games I want on the shelves.

 

i will ofcourse wait for ps3 other than buying the inferior x360..well if sony are tariling by a year or so then i might think otherwise...we will be getting to know about the release of ps3 in just 2 days time at TGS hopefully...this is a useless ..when all around the world people are talking about ps3 there is definitely no reason to ask""who is gonna get x360"'
