A Lot of Text From Somewhere

again. we are talking about performance of the gaming A.I and its output. Which will perform better? the Teraflop argument or the Integer Calculations argument

I am uncertain of how the enormous chunk of text you quoted relates to anything I had to say.

Your original assertion was that x360 CPU out-ioped cell and that SPUs aren't full CPUs, both of which have been proven incorrect. Are you now dropping that claim or what? If so, why did you make 'em in the first place?

Your question above is so broad as to be unanswerable. What do you mean by "teraflop argument"? PS3 only delivers a fraction of that figure from its CPU, as does x360.

Some implementations of gaming AI will leverage integer calculations above floats, others might work the other way around. Some might run better on PS3, some on x360, no matter if they use mainly floats or ints. There's no one single answer to that question.

Anyway, why even bother to ask it in the first place? :) What does it matter? Your question is sort of asking how much flour there is in a particular brand of chocolate-chip cookies; isn't it the taste that we really care about? ;)

wow . ok u guys are stuck in graphical, calculation LIMBO. I am simply asking Which architecture. The Cell or the Xbox 360 will perform better calculations in terms of Gaming A.I performance. Leave all issues of graphics, game structure. Im specifically talking about how well the game will perform in terms of A.I and performance in general

If you take 2 equally talented developers. Which System will get the A.I to perform better, faster and more efficiently?

Read these threads and make your own conclusions as there are differing views on the subject. Pay attention to MfA, ERP, nAo, Fafalada, DeanoC etc. as they are game developers. And there are plenty of other threads on the topic, so I suggest you use the search function as this topic has been discussed to death...

I prefer to listen to DaveBaumann

Dave is a graphics guy, not AI or general game dev, so I'm not sure what if any insight he could give you here..

Also best not to form opinion based solely on those of one other person. Better to take in the opinions and insight of many, imo.
