Silent, low-power PC?

You even get a chance to try new S3 graphics out :)

The one I have in mind has S3 too:

I can use my old AthlonXP 1800+, I also have a 160 GB HDD, 512 MB 333 DDR and a CD/DVD combo right here ready to be installed. So that would be the cheapest solution.

EDIT:
I would prefer this one, though. It can be used as a media center without booting Windows and has a nice remote in the package. Very sexy, but it's not so silent.

yep this is the offset... this one will be a little louder and a little cheaper plus much faster... while the other one has size and silence going for it but probably like 1/3 performance of XP1800+

OK let us know how it goes ;)

I intend to underclock it a bit and exchange the leafblowers against better ones, so it'll be pretty silent. We'll see, it'll arrive in 3-4 days.

Groovy and Antec Aria clone. I love my aria, so having a cheaper option with a supposedly more powerful PS is a good thing.

The only problem is that the power supply is pure and utter crap. :) Apparently some people have luck with them, but it is really a draw. One person was recording the +12v line dropping to +10v!

Still, for $80, the case itself is worth it even if the PS is crap. Add another $50 for an antec or fotron, and you've got a very nice, lightweight and small case with a lot of expandability with a good powersupply.

The only other setup I'm lusting for more right now is the new shuttle SLI system coming out. Unfortunately it'll probably run like $500 for just the case/ps/mobo which is way more than I'm willing to spend.

The Antec Aria is very good - I use one with all three HDD slots filled as a media server. It's not silent, however, and installing components is a bitch.
