SEGA Partners With Silicon Knights To Create Next-Gen Games

Guess it comes down to taste. To me ED screams "cool game". RE4 screams "WOWYOAHWZIE". :D

What makes you scream like that then? ;)

A middle of the road partnership by SEGA, the strategy is emergying as quite wise but not earth shattering. It's more ubisoft-like than anything

Seems like Sega is finally taking action, and as I expected, they're going to be fully back in action the next-generation. Wouldn't surprise me to see them in the top 3 list of publishers in a few years time.

Lol, they haven't been that since the days of the Genesis.(and even then it's debatable, as companies like capcom and konami were still very strong then)

BTW, I thought sega was about making games, not just publishing them. what happened to the sega of old we used to know?

They seemed to own the early 16bit period from about 89-92. Although my favorite Genesis game was toss up between GhoulsnGhosts and Revenge Of Shinobi. Still, they had the in house talent to put down years of PC-engine developement quite easily. I think alot of the popularity of Genesis in the west was due to many talented programmmers already famililar with getting the most out of the motorola 68000 from the Amiga and Atari ST days.

Why they haven't brought back Alex Kidd, or Streets of Rage I'll never know.

Did Alex Kidd even make it to the genesis?
Anyhow, Streets of Rage's sole notice is due to Streets of Rage 2, the first one was a golden axe clone, and it seems pretty much agreed that the 3rd one just wasn't as good. If the 3rd one had done better maybe we would have seen another sequel, but perhaps it's for the best as most of sega's revivals haven't done well.

Spikeout is supposed to be a spiritual sequel to Streets of Rage, though I haven't heard anything about it's quality. Pretty sure it's not selling well though, I heard it only had a release of 10,000 copies, yet EBGames.com still hasn't sold out.

You're talking about the Monolith and Creative Assembly deals?
I'm asking because SK is not exactly the winning wildcard Sega will need next-gen.
