Ryse: Son of Rome [XO]

Anything is possible, having a historical setting doesn't mean you can't involve the fantastical.

Heck they could end up having invading aliens or time travelers from the year 3000 for all we know. Not a whole lot has been revealed about the game.

Yeah the fighting looks interesting BAA style.

 

I'm really interested it. Guess I'm just tired of FPS (yet all I play is FPS ) And the graphics...

I can see it getting "5/10" reviews though, and stupidly, reviews often kill my interest.

 

Just bought chivalry they should play that and improve that game play so much fun online. With battle shouts and stuff

 

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a cool, approachable hack-n-slash/beat-em-up game. I just don't think this is gonna be it. I don't think Crytek has the game design chops to pull it off. They can do tech, but that's about all.

 

This one needs to eat soap haha. Game 1-3 was great in gameplay design. The rest of their games have been bin material.

 

In my opinion this is looking like the best game Crytek has ever made as far as I'm concerned. I really believe that. I've never enjoyed their games, and this looks more entertaining than any game I've ever seen from them. Their games always have this generic feel to them, and this game is certainly no different, but at least I think it helps make up for that by being a third person action title with swords that plays similarly to the batman arkham games.

I'm already way more interested in the events of the story compared to any of the Crysis games, that's for sure.

New trailer at 27min mark and the game will have some mythical elements to it.

1.) thanks god they throw kinect out of the window(s)

2.) they devs played to much god of war

3.) my most wanted X1 game at the moment!

 

They should have played the witcher 2.
I do hope multiplayer will have pvp im getting sick of all the horde mode coop multiplayer.
Maybe even chariot races...

Assets have amazing quality.

 

Armour texture close ups are really low res, environments are also low poly but most of all they really need to woek on the eye shader. Lighting looks good though.

 

Yeah, some textures are lower res, but it really depends on armor it seems, but environments are low poly? Seems quite high to me. Trees, statues and even pots look quite detailed. There is PoM and tessellation on surfaces.

 

I can see the POM in some places but not sure about the tessellation though, need to see some more close ups or can you point them out for me?

 

Those tree pots, also on the beach some rocks on the ground were tessellated in similar fashion as in Crysis 3.

Enviroments are hugely detailed. The plants are as good as I've seen, very convincing in stills at least.

 

Great looking shots. Expected from Crytek ! finally Crytek has a fixed hardware with beefed up specs ! But why are they 2560X1440? The game doesn't render at that res now, does it ? Are they from some tech presentation? We can't really judge IQ from these as we know these aren't from realtime XBOne gameplay. Gameplay shots won't be at that resolution. Sometimes I think everything we are seeing for every next gen titles might just be PC footage and shots.

BTW,has crytek given any details on whether this game runs at 720p30fps or 1080p30fps? Or is it 60fps. I am completely not interested in its gameplay, but it does look good ! Now that Crytek has acquired the Darksiders' developers, we might actually get some good gameplay too !!!

 

1080p30 at e3 on Xbox hardware I believe.

 

After watching the Comic-Con discussion I'll be getting this game at launch. Seems it's a big production title.

 

Can't wait for some gamescon impressions hopefully a new build with better combat.
And off course multiplayer info pvp or bust crytek, pvp or bust....
