They really bashed it a lot on the 1up show, I mean they were just about to say skip this and get Gears. I'd wait for other reviews.

 

I went through the 2 links quickly. They look pretty positive to me. Did you read them ?

The IGN folks may like GoW better than R:FoM but I think they are professional enough to review the games for what they are. R:FoM looks like a good launch title.

 

I watched the video review ant it was positive but it's the exact opposite of what they said on the 1up show.

 

I watched the 1up show, I wouldnt say they bashed the game per say. I would say they were being fair. You should read some of the other writeups on 1up about resistance. Not that it really matters but Luke smith personally thought resistance would great in the long run. That said, I gotta say though, after the KZL and UGnG reviews by 1up, can't say I'm much of a believer of their scores. You should read and watch the IGN text/video review and not just look at the score.

They were definitely negative about it. I'd have to play it myself if I wanted to tell you how it plays but I got the impression that this wasn't going to be too highly rated of a game.

 

I watched the 1up show, and I certainly would not say they 'bashed' Resistance at all. There were three things that were said about it, IIRC - 1) Kathleen said she would have been more wowed by it visually, if she hadn't played gears first (She did not say "skip this, get gears", nor imply that), but another noted that Resistance was busier and that they were two different types of game anyway, 2) the lack of rumble feedback caught them off guard on occasion, and 3) bryan just saying that he was playing Resistance, and more resistance etc.

They didn't actually talk much about the game itself at all. And thusfar the game has been highly rated, and judging by what 1up guys have said about it elsewhere I don't think they'll be out of step with that.

Yeah, right. It seems clear GeoW is scoring 3% higher review scores. I know which I think the better game, without having played either

 

Why are you putting so much emphasis on one negative review?

There are a myriad of reviews out there, wouldn't it better to get a general consensus instead of focusing on 1.

it DOES totally look like an awesome launch title

 

This seems to be a very nice game, good to hear they are already putting the controler to good use. Yet what I liked more to know is that they did a good work it AI (learning attack patterns ), it is very good to know that the most important FPS in each console (this, GoW and RS) is putting enphasis on AI along side with other games (SC4). Need to get a next gen console soon to try those games.

 

Most imp thing for me about R:FoM is the kickass online multiplayer component from the IGN review.

 

How come people always say a review is "negative" if it points out some places where the game is less than the most spectacular experience any human alive could possibly have?

 

1up hasn't even reviewed it yet, they were just talking about it for a couple of minutes in a segment of the 1up show.

 

A myriad? Ther's only one with any credibility, IGN.

 

Seems this game came through. Great reviews for a launch game.

 

To bad we haven't heard any impressions of the MP yet but I'm sure we will hear plenty of that when it launches in US!
