Not here yet either. But I'm sure it won't be long now. Probably doing it per timezone.

The EU English Blog has comments from US initially, and now a few UK and AUS, and CAN.

The UK PSN servers are coming online as we speak. We should have full population before the end of the day.

Is it just me, or did EU playstation blog just go down? I can't access it from my PS3.

Great way to set people up for disappointment btw, being able to download the patch, but not actually being able to sign in to PSN.

    :)

Great way to throttle your network. I am really REALLY curious in what GT5 has to offer, if anything. That has been my greatest loss.

They could do Sony sponsored discounts and / or give games away that had their projected release during the downtime.

Yeah, the blogs knackered. Maybe every one of millions of PSN users starting to sign in is leaving comments and they can't cope with the deluge?!

The blog is back up and they have an update:

Update: the phased restoration of certain PSN services has begun. We’ll let you know as each territory goes online via @PlayStationEU on twitter, at which point you will be able change your PSN password.

Since I don't have a PS3 I've tried to reset from the web but "it can take up to 24 hours" before you get a re-activation e-mail.

I was able to download and get in. It immediately tells you that you need to change your password as soon as you try to sign into PSN. I'm the only person on my friends list that is online. When you try to access any service you get a message that 'this service is currently undergoing maintenance'.

I thought I saw that you needed to be on the original PS3 you created the account with, luckily that's not the case.

I also reset my password from my non-original ps3. But my original ps3 has been deactivated from my account, I wonder if that makes a difference?

I wanna bet it just needs to be any PS3 that you activated with that account.

Yep. I'm on now, using my replacement PS3. I never deactivated my initial one when I had it replaced.

Well I logged in and discovered I did have a current credit card on the account...deleted it as well as changing my login and pwd, but is there any estimate of how "at risk" these credit card numbers are? I watch the account nearly daily...but...

I have always been wondering since PSN went down whether or not I saved my CC information in my PSN account. When I logged in just now, I see that there was no CC information saved. Did Sony simply remove everyone's saved CC information, or did I really not save my CC information?

edit: nm... I guess the post above me proves that Sony didn't remove CC information. So I guess I'm safe as far as my CC goes. whew.

As I understand it (and this is tempting Fate and I'll have my account ripped soon), if the hackers got the card details, then all they got was encrypted data. You'd need a catastrophic fault in the encryption for them to be able to extract the card details. Similarly they shouldn't have anyone's password, only the hashes of those passwords. The direct damage should be nothing.

I also take the encryption and hashing functions to be valid and not of the PS3 encryption sort of failure because Sony have had independent experts reviewing the situation who should have identified such issues. Should any be raised ("it turns out your card encryption just adds one to the card number") then I expect this to have been passed on as an update to the "abundance of caution" warnings when this situation broke.

I was able to reset my password from the website and remove my cc info. All in all, pretty painless.

My old card details were still there. I'm also using a slim which I didn't create my account with, that was a launch day fat. Waited for an email and changed my password and it's all back to exactly how it was. And by that I mean if you look at the last login for your friends you'll see it would appear that some had logged in over the past three weeks... So the data must be a pretty recent copy.

The store is still not working for me, but Lovefilm and the iPlayer are so I'm happy!!
