Recordable UMD?

Perhaps there will be a digital audio out?
That would compromise the security of UMD audio discs.

Again, Kutaragi has gone to a great length to please Hollywood executives and music labels; this means no digital output, no PC UMD drive, no UMD-R, heavy encycription, etc. And this probably is what is required of a new media format to entice hollywood and record executives tired of battling MP3 and DivX downloaders.

There is no need to enable digital audio output all the time, you can simply disable it when it shouldn't be used.

Like what the game Initial D Special Stage done to the PS2, the digital audio output is disabled when the game starts.

I don't recall that Kutaragi even mentioned gaming; it wasn't high on Kutaragi's priorities.

Well to be fair.. we all know that PSP will play games so talking about it's other functions is a wise thing to do.

Huh? All the talk about technical specs, polycounts, rendering subsystem, and how it's supposed to be close to PS2 in it's abilites, isn't there just for music listening and video playback. It's pretty clear where most of the development money has been spent if you look at what PSP chips are and what are they supposed to be doing.
