    Ichy..

You should forward this new version to all the major review sites today. Immidiately. In case there is still some time for further testing. It will make a WORLD of difference if the public gets the gist of just how far this chip will go.

How hot does the heatsink get? If it doesn't exceed 50 degrees celsius or so (i.e. you can still touch it easily...) you probably won't get too much of an improvement if you replace it.

That's where voltage-mods come into play!

Yeah try putting the 5800 ultra HSF on that thing and watch it hit 650 with a volt mod :) Better performance ths a 5800 ultra for $199. Only thing holding it back would be the seriously low clocked ram. What were you able to get the ram up to anyway?

Sorry 'normal' things got in the way - had to eat!

Anyway, I'll doube check the 60M number. AFAIK that was from M10, so I can't see RV350 being more than M10.

    Here's a 3DM03 compare URL at 437/300 - AF off, Trilinear filtering:

edit: Oh, and it appears I'm not going insane. Another reviewer is currently higher than I am!

Apparently, this thing is one hell of a VPU with plenty of room for clock improvements

Rather than 3dmark03 overclocked ( how many people who are going to have this card will be actually partaking in this scenario ? ) can you provide benchmarks for a current game or Doom III alpha overclocked to at least give a spread ?

My guess is this card will be over the top for DX7 games and no good for Doom III when it comes out and therfore it is pointless overclocking it.

The reason for looking at 3DMark03 is because the tests are very intensive, and the shaders test more of the pipeline - its very good for showing up artifacts. Once I find a limit I'll take a look at some more tests.

I wonder if you can o/c the Non-Pro just as well or almost and achieve similiar peformance... and what this all means for the Non-Pro/Pro for the mobility versions.

I'm eager to get the first Mobility 9600... if it's the Pro, great, but I think they said that it is going to be Mid-Summer or something, which means the Non-Pro must be right around the corner. Any thoughts?

    Hi Dave,

I re-read my post and it sounded a bit aggressive so I'll think about it and post again whay I am trying to say.

As an overclocker though I do think the results are great :)

    Regards

    Andy

How can you say that? I think this will be a very capable board for Doom III, it might even do better than a R9500pro due to the stencil buffer optimizations. The leaked Doom III alpha however is utterly useless for performance estimations of the game.
