Ohh my first post was a confirmation of what you said, i know you are not the brightest bulb around here but hey.....
The "PSP" portion of the devkit is literally just a controller with a screen, all the ports and other stuff is in the big box.Ty said:(I think the mem stick port is actually in the pc-like portion and not the PSP).

Have to say it's a good idea to keep it like that given the amount of abuse kits usually get
Fafalada said:So the screen on retail units is definately better then the Oct. devkit revision? We were all a bit worried about the change on those.
Fafalada said:I was actually getting my retail unit around christmas but I won't be back to Seoul until January so I won't see it for two more weeks Although I'm tempted to ask my friend to DHL it to me

No, I meant that our latest devkit (I believe it's the final one) has a better screen than the previous devkit - the one that has the same screen that eventually shipped for the Japan release. Therefore, this should mean that the American release for the PSP will have the better screen - at least I hope.
TTP said:You sure the actual retail (japanese launch) PSP screen is not the same quality as the last dev kit one? Looks strange to me. I mean, there are 200.000 PSP out there with "shitty" screen compared to the ones that will be distrubited after that? As an early adoper/importer I don think I feel gratitude towards SCEI for this.
marconelly! said:Hehe, well, I hope your team got their devkits confused (as in if they've been given info that retail unit will use 'screen from the latest devkit' but they weren't aware of the new devkit that was coming soon) as I too am importing the current PSP from Japan.

hey69 said:my impressions. I received 2 PSP packs with Ridge racer and 32mem stick.
I open the package and WOW . silky smooth . feels so expensiv (and paid so much )
just played a few minutes with the system. call me impressed.
first thing first, the screen is absolutly amasing!
started up Ridge racer , damn , it's almost difficult to believe you are seeing advanced 3d grafix on such a screen in your hands..
if there are euro guys here who are searching for a psp pack let me know. btw
