I can sell you one just 1000 USD, chuck in another 500 for shipping and we got a deal.
Oops, added a an extra zero.

He probably means the 5 Pro and accidently added a zero, as it almost exactly matches what we pay for them here, 1050 euro in Europe.
I would definitely say TW3's DDGI is very transformative vs. its previous GI which was just a series of cubemaps haphazardly scattered across the game world. These are from the PC release, but the main differences for GI/AO should be on console too.On consoles ? Only Hellbalde 2 and Avatar looks good from this list but dont understand why it has any connection with facts that rt in Metro Exodus and Witcher 3 on consoles didnt make transformative change. Btw we are far from topic now on ps5 pro
Controversial, but has RT actually “transformed” any games, ever? Don’t kill me.
I have different definition of word transformative But defenitly looks better that I can agree with.I would definitely say TW3's DDGI is very transformative vs. its previous GI which was just a series of cubemaps haphazardly scattered across the game world. Yes, it's a word undefined in context. I take LG's remark as about gameplay, not visuals, where the same game with better lighting is still the same game. Would Skyrim be transformed if rendered with full path tracing? Transformed from what to what? It'll still look like a computer game.I have different definition of word transformative But defenitly looks better that I can agree with.

If PS5 breaks even at $400, and added cost for PS5 Pro is $100, then we're talking a $500 console. Where is the extra $200 coming from? In what world is $200 low margin in the console world where software is where all the money is made? It's literally 75% more expensive than the base PS5. This is Sony simply seeing what they can get away with.If we assume that the PS5 DE breaks even and the added cost of the Pro is very conservatively ~$100, then the Pro still has low margins for a consumer product. Essentially all Sony are doing is encroaching into PC territory by providing a comparatively higher priced option at relatively worse value. I don't think that automatically means that the "break even" model of selling a base unit at the lowest price possible to the most people, goes away.
And telling people how they should be spending their money to "optimise" uncertain future outcomes veers into paternalism for me.
I'm comparing with other high end consumer electronic items, where margins of 50% or more are seen. With a $550 BOM (the DE is $450), that would be a margin of 21%.If PS5 breaks even at $400, and added cost for PS5 Pro is $100, then we're talking a $500 console. Where is the extra $200 coming from? And they're getting away with it. And it's going to affect all console pricing going forward. Giving in to this pricing ruins the market for everybody else in both the short and long term.
Or maybe the PS5 base isn't as CPU limited as we thought? But that testing isn't scientific enough.
Sony managed to somehow mitigate the CPU limitations on the Pro. A 6800 XT gets bottlenecked by a 5600X or a 3700X and never gets close to a stable 60fps whereas the PS5 Pro is almost there.
Indeed. BG3’s performance is only a tad bit better in the city in Act 3.Good benches of CPU limited areas in games show PS5Pro outperforming PS5 within the margins of its meagre CPU upclock. Anything else IMO is probably improper testing of non-like for likes.
Larian could enable 120hz for supported screens to get LFC working on PS5. It would look much better that way.Indeed. BG3’s performance is only a tad bit better in the city in Act 3.
DD2 might have other limitations that aren’t the CPU on consoles.

"Oops, I went in to the bios and limited my CPU power draw by 50%, silly me"And yes the comparison to NXG's recorded performance is also very eye opening. He's getting almost 50% more performance than NXG with a very similar CPU setup in the same area. Maybe NXG is doing some light video rendering in the background while recording his benchmarks
Indeed. Available bandwidth is always a topic we shouldn’t ignore on consoles. It can be a blocker for both cpu and GPU performance.Indeed. BG3’s performance is only a tad bit better in the city in Act 3.
