[PS3] Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time

I've had some issues myself not with this game but with SingStar, always at the same location too - in the SingStore. The game would invariably hang at some point - sometimes only after browsing a few songs, sometimes after 10, but it would almost always happen. I just upgraded my harddrive, and I'm going to test this again now, to see if it's harddrive related. If not, then I'm going to check out the disc in detail. If that doesn't offer up anything, then I can only think of the game data being corrupted somehow. In that case I'll just try to delete all of it and try to redownload my songs.

R&C: Quest For Booty is actually 3.2GB

Better start making room on your hard drive PS3 gamers, Ratchet & Clank: Quest For Booty is actually 3.2GB big and not 2.3GB as previously reported.

We had a bit of a shock when we went to download our review copy earlier. The 3181MB download weighs in at around 30% larger than we had been expecting.

As we reported yesterday, Ratchet & Clank: Quest For Booty hits PSN this Thursday with a Blu-ray release following in September.

Feel sorry for those guys who have a 20GB PS3, with all these add-on's I am sure your space is filling up really quickly

Which is probably why the game is released to retail as well on a BluRay disc? ;)

But the retail version will be sold a few weeks later. Then again you can always download PSN games again if you delete them.

Obviously - why else would I have upgraded my 60GB to 320GB eh? :)

Yeah, and then only to feature an install size of 3.2 GB making the gain non-existant. :p

Not sure with which game I already experienced this - was it Warhawk maybe?

WOW! blu -ray release is news to me! Hmmm...so what do I do now? Should I go for the platinum TOD or wait for QFB Blu-ray? Thats tough, QFB seems to be more of my style, but September is too far away and I'll be busy with LBP at that time! and then R2 and I will be just starting MP(job doesn't let me play...Waaa!) when KZ2 will come knocking ! Man, such beautiful times ahead :p !

Got my R&C:TOD  !!! They were selling the Standard versions for the price of Platinum Versions, and I kept thinking that the Platinum Versions had not arrived. I hope there was nothing special in the PLatinum Versions that I missed out on!

First impressions, The game looks so beautiful !!!! Mostly outdoors look great, specially natural stuff like ground, stone and rocks! I had formed an impression after the demo and these shaders are above that ! Indoors and man-made stuff like walls and all look bland(very insomniac) but its OK."The game looks more beautiful than I had thought " is my initial impression. The Fastoon Level looks like a painting :p!
One thiing bothers me though, the game runs at 720p. Didn't the demo run at 1080p?:???: Also the demo was sharp and crisp, the game comparatively is blurred and muddy(if thats the right word) ! Why is that so? Did they change the resolution at the last moment? Even the box says 720p.

Apart from the blurrines the game looks great and the space level was so beautiful! The challenge is missing though as everything is pretty easy. I hope the challenge will ramp up as I progress.

Here's it on my Bravia:

(I need tips for clicking from TV)

PS: My expectations for R2 have really gone up after seeing the GFX of this game;) !

I hope they release it as a downloadable version, i have the 250GB PS3 and it wants action.

 R&C is a must-buy game. :)
More fun levels ahead of you.

I don't remember it being blurry though.

Strange ! coz the initial reaction from all of my friends(as I put the game in) was that it was all blurry compared to the demo. Its true! The demo was very crisp!
Did the demo run at 1080p? I can't check now as I deleted the demo as soon as I got the game, I was too happy:oops: !

Um, are those pictures taken with you shaking the camera or out of focus? Because its very very very blurry. Or is it a SD tv?

IT'S AN HDTV !!!!:devilish:

Ha Ha ! just kidding with you;) ! Its my Bravia 32'' HDTV , I did ask for tips while taking a pic of my TV. I think I should take the pics at night, so that there's no ambient light on the TV. As for the blurriness, well, must be shaky hands! Oh! no no, it was a video playing, thats why the second pic is blurry. I should have used the screenshot function in my TV.But even the first one has a lot of noise in it.

PS: I'll be really happy if you can give me tips on this. I really feel like taking pics of Uncharted and now this game, but I don't get it like those screenshots threads at neogaf. The camera is Canon S3IS, a sexy one at that!

Use a tripod and external shutter control. If you have to press a button on the camera even when on tripod, you'll introduce a tiddly bit of shake. Handholding a camera, you might get away with a fast shutter-speed and wide aperture, but I wouldn't have thought the brightness of a TV would be that good. Hmmm, aperture of 2.7 on the S3IS is good. What 'film speed' are you using? Higher ISO values will introduce more grain/noise. I would expect default settings to be pretty grainy and blurry in a handheld shot - ooh, just like you pictures ;)

They actually look really nice though! With that 'off the screen' post-processing effect', jaggies are elliminated, lighting looks improved, and it's more CGI than ever!

Edit : Google says there's no external shutter release for the S3 IS, but if you use the self-timer, that'll work. Put the camera at a good height, set a timer for a few second, press the shutter and stand clear until it's taken the photo.

Bought Quest for Booty today!

And just for the record it was exactly 2.8GB. I bought the JP version and it has both Japanese and English audio/menus so that accounts for the size difference. The EU version probably has many more languages.

Thanx for the tips! I will follow these the next time I find a beautiful place in the game.;)

@inefficient: Can you post some screens for QFB! I really like the dark mood of that title.
