why dont you be just happy you are one of the 15% on this earth who even can afford one?

The European market is just as big as the Japanese market. Also, there are more Europeans than Americans. Last time i checked.

Maybe, but we are better.

So there....

At what? :devilish:

Console-first-getting, among other things.

Based on the [estimated] number people on earth, isn't 15% a hell of alot of people still? :p

Seriously though, what are the chances that sony will break their tradition?
While it would be nice for a territory other than Japan to get it first, I really doubt it. Still you never know, things can change I guess.

i wanted to say on worldwide base. 7 billion > 15% = +- 1billion people

And there are less than 300M americans. That's 5% more or less.

It's because i'm in the UK (NOT Europe thank you) that i have to laugh.

LB , you dont count the UK as a continent on its own right?
UK = EUROPE

sorry i'm mister correct today :devilish:

Ok ok!! We're part of Europe as a territory but we're not Europe. We don't have the Euro and we don't feel European.
I'm Italian (though i've been here for-f**king-ever) and i don't even feel European.

We in Norway don't have the Euro, we're not even part of the EU. So there. We should get the PS3 at the same time as the japanese :D

an italian brit who's opposed to europe :LOL:

fair play mate, fair play...

it's not even so much that we get everything later (although that does really get me annoyed sometimes), it's the $300 = £300 exchange rate that really pisses me off! (a la the current xbox when launched, 4 months later i may add)

and before anyone dares say it, yes we have VAT... big whoop. $300+17.5% = $352 which at this moment in time = exactly £193.194 - where's the extra £106.806 going?

is it just us in the UK who have this pleasure of susidizing the american prices, or is it a priviledge the whole of europe gets to share?

man, if i could pick myself up a console for £200 (ie the american $300 point, plus VAT, plus a few quid extra just because i'm nice) at launch i'd get one in an instant... as it is, you know we'll end up getting stuck with a £300 or £350 launch price at the very least.

they should release the console in europe simultaneously with another continent such as NA, or why not a country such as Japan!

yeh I hate it how freaking EXPENSIVE the consoles are in Europe!! man I had to pay 5000kr in Sweden which now equals about 666$, lol! haha coinsidentally an evil number lol!! well at the time of the release it would have been way more dollars, (beginning of 2001).

why the H*ll do we have to pay SOOOOO much more?! man the people in NA complain about 350 dollars, now that is "lol"!! we pay double in europe or at least sweden.. :) anyway I hope we get WAY luckier this time. cheers :)

EDIT::
Btw, 300 dollars equals about 2250 kr in Sweden, even though its less now but I used a slightly larger number.. :) now thats freaking cheap compared to 5000kr.. also I payed 2500kr (more than 300$) for a chip and now my ps2 is broke mainly because of being f*cked up after the installment..

Any comments to this especially our price?? I would like to know what others think about it.. :)

I live in Canada, if the cost $300 US, then here is about $450($500+ after tax). So its not exactly cheap for us either :?

Where in canada ?

Anyway i think they will release in japan first , just because for some reason as long as its sony the japanese will buy it even if it only has 3-4 games . They can also launch there , get the hype to come to the usa and europe when everyone reports people waiting online and the system selling out .

Here the psp did not sell out and if they launched the ps3 here and it didn't sell out that would look very very bad for them

I read that consumerism just isn't that big in Europe. Shops close earlier and Euros save more than Americans rather than always buy the latest toy.

We have higher GDP and lower unemployment, in large part because of an economy more dependent on conspicuous consumption.

Hey you may pay double for consoles but you're all deeper souls! :LOL:
