the problem here is, when you want to show an architectural project ,you make it very clear and lightened ,not a night shot in the dark with the building mostly covered by shadows.
The atmosphere 's mood is way too dark and unfriendly ,too.
The point is to sell an idea.

Thats based on current pic. but its possible that architect did multiple renders of daytime as well as evening and what we are seeing is only one of them.

If the building's gonna feature in an area of nightlife where it's noight illumination is a feature, a rendering will be wanted. I'd agree to an architectural pic - the people look like the 2D cutouts you can buy for such purposes.

then why didn't he put some lights into the building ?
The point is i hightly doubt this is a Professionnal architectural presentation , it miss completly the appeal value POV.
(plus ,the atmosphere has too much an "end of times " mood.)

Could be an amateurish work ,still.

Perhaps this was a quick draft that never made it to the actually presentation as it was poor, but someone lifted it as a GTA concept?

You may be looking at point of view of 3D artist while most architect I think will not pay so much attention to that. Just see from this perspective that if an architect present such a concept to a condiminum management/builder are they going to worry about light in windows ?

That seems quite reasonable.

That only applies if we're talking about one render. Again "it depends on the project." Who's to say a client didn't want to see their building at night? Who's to say this didn't accompany daytime renders as well?

There are enough "if's" attached already, but there's nothing to make you decide one way from another simply because this in particular is a night shot.

PC-Engine, meanwhile, is being cracked. :p Aren't you from the "it's all about the lighting" school? ;)

If it is a architectural project, these guys need urgently a Marketing course.

Actually, it´s so wrong as a propaganda for a building, that it´s simply impossible. It IS a game.

On my wishlist for PS3 GTA would also be changing seasons, it would be fun if the gameworld had winter, spring, summer, autumn and special holidays like christmas, easter etc... which reflect in how the environments look.

If its set in Southern California or just about anywhere in the SOuthern US... environmentally the changes wont be noticeable...

I think someone, on those very boards, posted this pic a few months ago to illustrate his vision of what GTA would look like on PS3...

And now it's come full circle as many people take anything found on this board as gospel. :D

while most architect I think will not pay so much attention to that
if you work for an architect ,you'll be asked to provide a picture :

1/emotionnaly neutral
2/ the building must be visible ,visualy "readable" ,e it day or night.

that' why i say it's not a professionnal work.

That game does look quite good.

It looks to be a very close copy of GTA:SA, even down to the camera and car physics and types of missions. If it weren't named differently it'd go 100% as a GTA update for next gen.

And that could as well be it's downfall, being 100% unoriginal.
A real next gen GTA might not be very original compared to say GTA:SA either, but at least it is not trying so hard to be a "me too" game.
"Me too" games irk me very much :(
