The website claims it’s none other than Rockstar’s next-gen GTA title, in development for the PS3. Jeux-France goes on to suggest that the game will be made available to other consoles via “online possibilitiesâ€￾—do we smell MMOG?

In addition, Jeux-France claims that the game will be six-times the size of San Andreas and will feature 350 (fuel-requiring) vehicles. Even more outrageous is the new “system of creation of animalsâ€￾ (literal translation). Huh? Your guess is as good as ours—perhaps breeding for underground dogfights. Naturally, Rockstar declined to comment.

Seems the screenshot and news has been now taken off from the french "Jeux France" website. Did Rockstar take action...

Anyway, about the image. If this indeed is GTA for PS3, then it exceeds my expectations for next gen GTA. Just imagine a world six times of SA with that level of detail
On my wishlist for PS3 GTA would also be changing seasons, it would be fun if the gameworld had winter, spring, summer, autumn and special holidays like christmas, easter etc... which reflect in how the environments look.

I think it turned out to be True Crimes, not sure though. I'll try to dig up a source

edit: nm, I got that from some crappy TXB post

That'd be pretty sweet. I've been struggling to think of things I'd like added in the next GTA

Ya I saw this going around at ign yesterday but din't post it cause people are saying its not real

Doesn't quite look like an architectural pre-construction rendering. They usually have less detail on the surroundings.
Don't know, this just looks more like a game rendering to me, maybe just a concept render or a cutscene from some game, maybe.
But if those PGR3 building shots were real from the actual game, I don't see what makes it hard to believe a shot like above could be from GTA type game.

Well, I posted it.
If you think it's not in accordance to the board rules to post rumoured next gen PS3 pics, please lock this thread.

I think even though current gta games are ugly , next gen ones will look better than this shot .

Its not saying it can't be done , its saying this just isn't it .

This pic went around here like 8 or 9 months ago if i recal for some other game

rabid: chill dude, no one's attacking you :]

Though it's hilarious to think that a proposed architechtural design is being used as next-gen rumours.

For a game of GTA scope, it does look hot to me.
Can't imagine it would be possible for next gen to do better, don't really expect PS3 GTA to look that good.
As GTA this gen looked more like a PSOne game (if you look just at the polygon and texture detail of individual objects, not the size of gameworld etc.), I have been thinking PS3 GTA would have the polygon and texture detail of PS2 games.
Think character detail at the level of Tekken4, or rather a bit below that, vehicle and building detail the level of Burnout3, those put into a GTA:SA scope game and that's what I've been expecting next gen GTA game to look like.
And I would be quite happy even with that.

Huh :? I didn't think so.
Oh.... but you're attacking me

I don't think it's any more hilariuos than dev houses putting concept renders and people thinking they are real gameshots you'll see on your tv screen.
I haven't seen this pic before, it was reprted this was a rumoured PS3 GTA shot, I thought it could be, I post it here... if it indeed is confirmed an architectural design proposition, this thread deserves to be locked... no it must be locked as it'll just lure all the trolls.
So mods, if this is confirmed not a PS3 GTA shot, please lock this thread befor it goes worse it already is.

oh.. now I see... this is about PS3

My friend and his father do this for a living, and what I can really say is "it depends on the job." If the client wants to see a proposed building in the cityscape it would be accompanying, then they'll strive to deliver that to them. Amusingly, that prominent guy in white in the lower-right hand looks somewhat familiar. (Sharing "people resources" isn't uncommon.)

There actually isn't all TOO much to see building-wise in the background (that one major one on the left, really, and the rest you can barely make out anyway), and they could quite easily have used a previous project (or have an unused sample build) to add flavor to the scene, rather than make it all about the single building. (Both buildings do strike me as a bit over the top, as many architectural designs are to give a good first impression to a client.)

The other details, though...? The trees, lamps, cars and people are quite easy to slip into a scene, and is not actually more than I've seen my friend do on some stripmall projects and the like. (They'd just have a "suburb" background filled with more hills or trees rather than other buildings.) After designing the project building, the render time is what actually takes the huge time afterward--spending an extra hour or two on the "living details"--if you will--isn't much of a bother at all.

The only real bother I can see from the other building is that it, too, has a lot of reflective surfaces (especially considering the number of light sources), so that will add a lot of processing time to the project. If they're a reasonably sized company, though, they likely have a beefy workstation to kick this out. (With my friend, 2 day renders are uncommon but not unheard of. I'd estimate that a job like this for him, though--if all those lamps are true light sources--would be 5+ days. Rough estimate of course... but I'll ask him. ^_^ )

At any rate I can't say for sure, but this strikes me as an architectural render.

Yep, those people do look to me also like those used in architectural renders. I'm also leaning on these actually are architectural "concept" renders.

When the town built a new firehouse , police station , general place (the old one burnt down ... yea the firehouse burnt down ) they made something like this with the trees there , the parking lot , a few cars . They even had kits putting thier bikes into bike racks and the quailty was slightly lower than this

the problem here is, when you want to show an architectural project ,you make it very clear and lightened ,not a night shot in the dark with the building mostly covered by shadows.
The atmosphere 's mood is way too dark and unfriendly ,too.
The point is to sell an idea.

If it's an architectural project ,it's not a professional one.
