PS3 Buying Strategy?

I got one!

After being at Best Buy the last few days as they opened without any luck, I went on a calling spree today at lunch and ended up finding a 60GB PS3 (one left) at a somewhat local Gamestop! I had them hold the system for me as I did my best Mario Andretti impersonation...setting a new land speed record on my way there from work...LOL

I wouldn't go so far as to say "not hard"...but it is definitely possible...

I'd try calling your local Gamestop or EB around noon or 12:30 each day (right around delivery time for most UPS and FedEx) and ask if they have any in-stock.....

One thing I forgot to mention was what a cashier in the Electronics department at Wal-Mart said.......This guy said they were told there would be NO 60GB PS3's untl February! Although, after talking with people at a few other stores (non Wal-Mart)....they said he was crazy....

Doesn't Best Buy and Circuit city have an online search function for it BM stores? I got my 360 by bookmarking links given on anandtech, that allowed you to type in your zip code and it would display which store within a define radius actually had 360s.

I got mine because I'd waited 2 hours at a Sony Style store on launch day. They gave reservation cards to people who didn't get to buy that day.

All good for my Sony Visa, which is effectively giving youa 10% discount this month.

Now I just want an online source for games and peripherals. Hopefully, Amazon starts stocking them, so I can get it tax free.
