Product placement to the extreme?

I don't care if companies do it cleverly (like Arrested Development just did hilariously with Burger King), and I'm trying to get over the fact that media will bring it in somewhat (like all the CBS shows keep doing with the iPod right now, and at least CSI was doing with the Xbox and Playstation before), and I don't mind if games bring it in as well, but... That seems a little extreme. o_O

I'm not sure if it's just a mode you can put on your characters (to change into those clothes if you want, but ignore them just as easily--that lets you have fun with them if you want but doesn't become an eyesore), or just how often you'd run across billboards, so I'd have to reserve judgement.

...but it's going to happen. The moment anything becomes a major form of media--or even just a major part of the public consciousness--advertising will give it a try. Just look at people's foreheads on eBay. ;)
