Problems getting picture to TV

I'd guess this is mainly Win7 problem, since it overtook the display control from video cards control panels which controlled the extra displays in Vista and earlier

I got Sony Trinitron 28" TV (KV-28LS35E), and I've tried plugging my HD3850 to it with S-Video and Composite, with no luck so far.

For unknown reason, Win7 thinks I've always had 2 displays, my Acer X223W (DVI) and Generic non-PnP monitor (apparently in "vga" according to Windows), if I plug the computer in to my TV with S-Video and detect extra displays, there will be another Generic non-PnP monitor (or was it PnP, can't remember) detected, but I can't get picture on it no matter what I try, it's connection in windows's own display manager thingy is "Other"
If I try composite instead, Windows seems to recognize 2 extra monitors, one in "other" and one in composite, but again, no picture on TV, and if i select the composite thing as my 2nd display (extend desktop to it), I can't save the settings.
I'm using the Win7 preview drivers

Any tips on what could fix this?

edit:
composite seems to work now that i had it connected when i rebooted, gotta try the same with s-video
edit2:
s-video works too after booting with it attached

Let's bump, I upgraded to build 7048, and now I can't get my S-Video to work anymore, nor composite for that matter.
Both give me picture in boot until Windows loading animation, after that, nothing.
In safe mode, both give picture without problems.

If I take off force detect TV from CCC and reboot, Windows display manager recognizes there's display device on s-video, but trying to extend desktop to it just reverts it back to "disabled" status, trying to show desktop only on it doesn't show anything on it either, and can't know wether it stays disabled then too since my monitor doesn't receive signal then, same goes for duplicating, no signal for main monitor.

If I use "force detect TV" I just get "Other" as display device in the display manager, and it acts the same way as described above.
If I use "force detect component" I get TV in the display manager, right resolution and all, but the image is black'n'white (and flickers a lot), no wonder since it's on s-video cable, not component cables.

Any ideas on how to get this thing to work?

That sounds like the wrong tv setting (ntsc, pal-I, pal-M ect)

Well yeah, it does, except that when you're trying to force component signal (which is carried via 3 cables, each color having it's own) through s-video to a TV which doesn't support component, the wrong tv-setting isn't really the problem I think :p
