True, though this goes against all those who were saying in another thread that any IHV was doomed if their soon to be released chip didn't support PS 3.0 ...

Funny, I didn't see anyone saying they were "doomed".

Parhelia, come out with it now please - what is your relationship with XGI?

Wow, I'm deeply touched and honored that the great Dave thinks I have some kind of relationship with XGI.
Honestly, I don't have any special relationship other than of couse exchanging some emails with their staff and having some friendly conversation like I also do with some other companies... But that doesn't make me one of their employees or whatever unlike what you're suggesting, or else all the Rage3D fanboys would be ATI employees by now as well...

Well, considering you have said things such as this to Rev:

Hopefully Beyond3D will be able to bring more details of XGI’s new chips when they are ready to announce them.
Don't worry.

I also said that we'd appreciate the sample card. XGI never responded.

Reverend, please don't get offended, I think it's just that XGI doesn't want to reveal yet too much of their product nor the date. I'm sure you will get a sample board.

I figured you must know something that we don't considering I'm the one dealing with them.

You have also "vigorously" defended XGI, despite the fact that at present there is not a lot to defend from a public standpoint - and the general populace around here has reason to be somewhat leary considering SiS's past effort (which I personally think wasn't bad, however they just should have removed all the driver IQ reductions - and I mentioned as much to SiS's 3D guy when I met him).

However, I'm relieved that you are not an employee as in a number of threads here I've seen FUD like comments mentioned from you on 3 of XGI's competitors.

Hey, XGI stated too they were targeting the high end market, yet you don't believe them...

Why can´t we just finally wait until this month runs out, then make up our mind?

Shall I doubt your ability to read?

My own first statement in the News thread:

SiS had a PS/VS3.0 core on it´s roadmap AFAIK. If they state a top to bottom line it might be not entirely impossible that they´ll announce a full line of products, where low and mid end are PS/VS2.0 products and a high end PS/VS3.0 part to be released at the same time or a tad later than everyone else.

Please don't put words in my mouth. I neither said nor implied any of the kind.

Instead of searching for loopholes in other people's reasoning, it would be wiser to search for them in your own first and foremost.

Dave,

In all fairness I'm not exactly innocent in that department either. Maybe I just need myself an indirect "shut up" anytime soon
