This is what I want in games, that make me happy.

That make me want a HDD in PS3 too...

I`d only want a HD so devs can use them for swapping. Futere games are gonna be expensive in terms of Textures( all those shaders need input and I doubt procedural shaders will be used often ).

But in that case +256 or +512 MB >>>>> any HD. Why force a HD upon anyone if half of the ppl dont have a use for it and dont want a fragile additional heating and noiseing component ? Dollars saved on the right spot IMHO.

I'd take a built in hard drive over a Blueray drive any day of the week. And for $100 cheaper? No contest.

X360 is a Tivo out of the box. Besides that, every developer is deving for the system with a hard drive in mind, the same can't be said for the PS3. Hell the PS3 does even ship with a memory chip large enough to stream to. That means that for those who do end up buying an memory card large enough that 'could' be used to cache to, no games will utilize it since it isnt out of the box standard.

There is a reason Obvlivion was canned for the PS3. PS3 might be next gen to some, but to me it isnt even up to Xbox standards with no HD out of the box.

No HD out of the box is a huge mistake. Next gen is all about downloading levels and mods. Hell Oblivion for X360 will offer mods. And custom soundtracks for every game. I can play Oblivion with the soundtrack to LOTR, or even Morrowind. I'm glad MS is forcing a HD on me. :)

Just a reminder, Opa? This topic is about PGR3's track editor and how cool this feature is? ...not rehash #483 of your thoughts on "harddrive vs. BR". Geezus!

People, like I said I want the HDD this is just the tip of the iceberg, Allard had said in a interview (sorry but dont remember here) about this feature in PGR3 but he talked about this as a firdt stage, a second here you can place the builds, roads etc..., and a final one here you can do everything.

As I said in this especific case you may not need a HDD but in the later ones you need one.

Know add this lots of games, modes, art, possibilitys etc and you understand why the HDD is romovable.

This is my thread, who are you to limit the scope of the topic? SOmeone mentioned it and I think it's a legitamite issue regaurding the track builder.

Interesting. That will bring a lot of life to the game. Can't wait to get some ingame videos of it in action.

Indeed...the wankers above that saw fit to bring harddrives into this discussion seem to be guilty of the "solution looking for a problem" psychosis. As if naturally only a cool feature like this "must" need a HD to implement...

No need for name calling... sounds like aweful sour grapes to me.z

No, not really. In this case, they really are wankers. As of yet, there is little, if any, indication that a harddrive has anything to do with the feature, but naturally it has to be brought up because that is the mindset. I could just have easily have said "trolling trolls", but I think that is pretty evident, already.

lol

Doesn't look that impressive. Those buildings look ALOT less detailed than what we saw a couple of days ago.

lol

The fun never stops in the console forum!

OnTopic: I like that.

How`d figure PS3 - BR-Rom + DVD-Rom + HD = $100 ?
Besides, HD is optional anyway, bundling a 20GB HD will feel pretty soon like bundling a 4MB Memory-Card with the Console - just outdated.

No Tuner no Tivo unless Im missing something. Oh and PS3 is a BR-Player out of the Box, might be worth more for some people( especially since theres no Burner included).

Thats a valid Point, its not like Sony couldnt bundle a HD at a feature point in time though( see Network-Adapter ), and I believe they are sensitive enough to realise if its necessary. Devs will adopt fast enough if a huge percentage has the Hardware, its a different thing with BR, thats set in stone from day one.
