Look I don't know GPUs inside out. What I do know is you just can't compare one future GPU to another future GPU from the their past setups.
Both of these GPUs are custom built for a console expirence so no what you said doesn't apply pc999.

I understand mckmas8808 but if the companies themselves (nv here) say that the card is equivalent to 6800 ultra in sli, that basically means thats its as powerful as an ati x800 in "sli" also which makes all the comparison either untrue or inaccurate...

But the cards aren't comparable. That's the point. "Comparable" or "equivalent" doesn't mean they have the same featureset, fillrate or whatever. For instance, I don't think 6800 SLI is gonna do HDR as well as the RSX. The Guerilla guy said as much in his interview. He said there's stuff they can't do until they get ahold of the RSX, so take that as you will. Not enough info on either GPU. But then what do you expect after only a couple of days from the first unveiling? PEACE.

I just doing the coparison based on what the IHV said about their current hardware versus their own future hardware...

Half of the people who own or review current gen high end cards believe that the x800 is more powerful than the 6800 and vice versa... so they are roughly comparabel in terms of power if not in feature set... so of R500 is to be 4x the current power of x800 while RSX is only double the 6800... the math doesnt make sense to say that rsx is more powerful.. without that statement from nv though the NUMBERS are in favor of RSX
