Ah, well then, that's the main thing. If you've no exciting punches to pull, there's not much need of the added expense of a conference. The media will cover MS's titles with or without some presentation on sales numbers!

 

I agree as they will need to generate some buzz especially in Europe.
Ms make it looks like it doesn't want to steal the show from the editor or their own exclusive line up.
Between are many big shows are left (in 2008) to MS to set the lines of their 2009 line up?

 

To be fair Microsoft only recently decided to switch its focus to Europe, but to have nothing new to show and not even bothering with a chest-beating "look at us" press conference to at least hold mindshare in the meantime is quite a surprise.
