Official Nintendo PR thread

That's what I thought. I thought Kaplan also said something about late in 2006 as well, I can't remember.

Also i can't see nintendo deciding on and making ads so early. It seems a bit odd to plan something out so far ahead when you're launching last, and haven't seen what the competition is up to with their ads.

I thought there was confirmation that nintendo was launching later than this?

Phil Harrison said Nintendo is thinking about mirroring the DS launch schedule which puts Revolution at a Nov US launch. The controller however will be shown by the end of this year.

Na they may not be talking about dates , just how they launched. Usa then japan then europe . For nintendo its normaly japan first . So they could launch usa in march , japan a few months later and then europe for fall

Actually they were.

Well they *might* pull off a worldwide launch in Q3 - Q4 2006, considering they will completely reveal Revolution at E3 2K6.

Nintendo has several Revolution titles in the works (planning should be done for most titles), third parties such as Square-Enix, Sega, Namco, Capcom,... have/might have titles in planning stages, and I think development kits should become available Q2 - Q3 2005 (maybe they're already sent to developers under very strict NDA's), so that could mean one year of additional development time for launch titles. I think Nintendo will try to 'carry' the launch by itself with titles such as Metroid Prime 3 and Super Smash Brothers Revolution, with more third party titles coming out shortly after to back the platform further up (Super Monkey Ball 3, Resident Evil 5,...)

Quite right EC. FF:CC & SSB:M will be online enabled launch titles. All those aforementioned japanese devs. have software in development or planning stages, a Namco/Bandai anime title should make release as well. Square/Enix is much more behind the Revolution than many people may think. ;)
