Official E3 Microsoft Conference Thread 2010

Gears 3 looked SICK. Better than MGS rising.

Reach I was actually kinda underwhelmed by, was expecting more graphically. Still will amazing and incredibly fun though, and is still a good looking game.

Only wish they coulda showed footage of that Crytek exclusive, because the way they emphasized graphics, and given Crytek, I'm betting it's just unbelievable. It's awesome too because I've dreamed of Ms signing up Crytek (best coders in the world at pushing graphics imo) to finally push that hardware. I was wishing they had got out the checkbook and signed Crytek up for exclusive Crysis 2 a couple years ago, but since that didn't happen, this is next best.

Natal showed a lot of potential and I'm thinking it could be a big hit now. I see two areas where it's a natural, Dance games and Fit games, and a few more areas of promise. Excited to see what devs come up with for it over time. Force pushing like a mofo in Star Wars natal will be amazing

And 360 slim is cool. I might even dump my Elite on ebay if I can get 200 for it, and get one. Shame it's not coupled with a price cut. Shame we didn't get any Natal pricing/SKU clarifications either.

There was a post interview with Aaron Greenberg and Jeff Keighly from Gametrailers and he said the arcades will drop to $150 (until being cleared out), and the current 120GB elite model will drop to $249.

So they're dropping the Arcade altogether??? Cant be right. There sales will suffer hugely without that 199 price point model, which is like half their sales.

Also on natal pricing, there's this (gamestop listing). Horrible if true. Still shows an Arcade model though.

Heres an xbox 360 fact sheet.

I should of been more detailed in my original post. Sorry.

There dropping the price to clear out the old models. Once they clear out the old models then they will replace it with the new slim. Im assuming the new arcade slims will be HDD-less.

I'll get the new 360 when the Natal bundle comes out.

ahh patience is a virtue!... Now I need to find a way to be virtuous. :devilish:

Edit:
again... will N band make any difference in MP or streaming compared to G?

thanks

yea looking at spec sheet.. HDD not compatible with old but is removable, chipset 45 nanometer integrated CPU/GPU

Does it still have the "brick"?

From the fact sheet, looks yes, but smaller and more streamlined. Exactly what I expected.

I mean the power bricks already got a good deal smaller+lighter just in the Falcon>Jasper transition.

It's interesting to me how they keep touting "whisper quite", given I thought 360 noise levels were supposedly due in large part to the 12X DVD. Did they somehow mitigate that??

Great showing by MS. The integrated stuff like optical out, WiFi etc on the new Slim is fantastic. The gloss black and chrome bits are pretty too but I don't like the styling much. Definitely going to be replacing my Pro with the new model.

The Kinetic voice controlled living room is very nice and very cool that it'll be available for PCs too.

MGSR and GOW3 looks great.

If you have a dodgy signal on G, N should allow for a better quality signal over the same range. This would be the biggest difference for most I would guess. Internet streaming and gaming should be unaffected except for as above. In-home streaming (Media Center Extender, WMP connect, DLNA, etc.) would be noticeably improved, though.
