I mean when I first walked out of the prison sewers to see the sun coming up over the mountains WAY WAY WAY off in the distance and the sun sparkling off the waving waters below me I was just blown away, that with tree's and foliage all around me moving in the gentle breeze.

No amount of previews or screenshots can prepare an RPG fan for this.

I'm not an RPG fan typically, but I need to find some time to pick this one up; on all the boards I visit, I have never seen so many people from differing opinions be so impressed with a single game.

Even the non-RPG fans say this is off the charts GOTY and it seems everybody on my LIVE friends list is playing ths now.

it's a pretty nice first 4 mos of software for a new console:
COD2
Kameo
PGR3
FN3
GRAW
Oblivion
Far Cry
Burnout....
and I'm picking up Blazing Angels.

yea, I know a couple of people who love burnout and Far Cry (which is why it's in there) but the demo of Burnout didn't do it for me and I need to see Far Cry in action first but with CoD2, FN3, Oblivion, GRAW and Blazing Angels I have my hands full.

love...this...game! but I took so long to get out of the sewers it was night outside when I got out! Those rats kicked my ass...

I'm about 8 hours into the game, still haven't completed even one quest in the main story.

Anyone have the problem of becoming a vampire? I can't go out in the daytime. I don't know what the hell to do.

I don't know what the hell happened to me either, I cleared out this tomb of vampires and now I get these strange enhancements when it's nightime, and I had a dream about becoming a vampire....

I can still go out in the day though...

its like dagger fall meets morrowind.

dissapointed on how many citys. which isless then morrowind. night time for mw also out of the sewer. and to easy to get caught stealing

it's pretty easy to not get caught stealing, just wait till it's dark outside, make sure no-one is looking and pick the lock. You have to go into stealth, make sure the eye is dim, that means no-one is watching and you can go ahead and pick the lock.

Once you join the thieves guild it's great, find the most expensive shop in town, case the joint, wait until nightfall and steal everything he owns, then fence it off at 50%.

You can turn into a vampire?
lol I guess! no-one told me and they don't explain anythign about it. You probably have to find someone who knows about this stuff, or maybe find a good book on vampires...

btw: does anyone else trash every hotel room they get? I like the physics in this game, every hotel room I make a point to trash the place, must be the rockstar in me :D

I've never really been a fan of western rpgs, but this game has me mildly interested...

Hopefully a friend picks it up so I can at least try it before making some spur of the moment decision that I might regret!

Scooby, I figured it out. If you don't get blood for a long period of time you can't even talk to people. Go to the waterfront at night and break into somebodies house and suck they're blood. You will have to do this everyday to "not become a vampire" to human. If humans sense you are a vampire you can't even buy stuff in shops. There is a quest to cure it but I haven't finished it yet. When your a vampire you are stronger faster etc. Hope that helps a litte.

OMG it sounds crazy  Oblivion rocks

It's fun reading about your excitement with this feature, considering Daggerfall had Vampirism and Lycantropy 10 years ago. Yes, when you console gamers just got PSones!
I'm not saying that Oblivion isn't a great game - from what I can tell so far it actually is - just that this over-hyping is crazy to watch from a long time TES-fan's perspective.
