I wouldn't count on it at least during this year.while still being around 300 euros
Why not? Unless the GTX260 is going to be *really* fast, 300e seems to be a very logical price point.
9800GTX are already at 230-260e here.
GTX260 can sit nicely in the 300-350e slot, while GTX280 will be 500e or so.
As expected. Excellent. More competition = win for consumers
Like Chris suggested earlier; GTX 260 448MB. Although I doubt how much savings that would result in ..I wonder how NVIDIA would fill the gap between G92b and GTX260 ?
Well all the rumours suggest the 4870 should be a good deal faster than a 9800GTX (if that's what you call high-end rather than some multi-gpu setup).I just wonder what GTX260 will be like.
I won't be interested in 4850/4870, because by the looks of it, they won't deliver more performance than today's high-end.
GTX260 certainly should be faster than a 9800GTX (manufacturing cost will be much, much higher so it better be significantly faster!). I dunno if all rumours about bad yields etc. are true both GTX260 and GTX280 could remain low-volume, high-priced parts - though availability of a cheap HD4870 (if it's not that much slower) could probably put some pressure on the GTX260 price. Haven't really seen anything though yet that the HD4870 will actually be available in more than review quantities initially... I guess we'll need to wait and see...GTX280 will probably be in the insane price regions of 8800Ultra and 9800GX2.
So I hope GTX260 is significantly faster than 9800GTX/4870, while still being around 300 euros. In which case I'll pick one up. Else I'll just stick with my 8800GTS until something worthwhile comes around.
Keep cutting clusters and MC?Like Chris suggested earlier; GTX 260 448MB. Although I doubt how much savings that would result in ..

35 fps in Crysis in high , and without AA not is very impressive ... in any map

I wouldn't be surprised if NVidia has a special Crysis driver - they'd want to keep something up their sleeve.http://images.vnu.net/gb/inquirer/news/2008/06/12/gt200-scores-revealed/nv_gt200_numbers.jpg
