That whould be a litle stupid because they are losing lot of market just because they don´t have DX_10.1 suport/sticker in the box.
A lot of overtime for AIBs/distributors...

So take your conclusions. Things should be very clear since day one, not like that way.
Sure, but why not this time, when NV was in past usual in front of supporting latest D3D features? :???:

And there is still this slide, which states D3D10.1 is supported:

All a bit strange...

Its possible that they didnt support dx10.1 in 8800GT now its becuase it will affected the marketing of GTX and Ultra.
But D3D10.1 would be the final advantage against same priced RV670-SKUs.

Once they have phased out all the G80 cores, they can enable it through the hardware as the new G92 based 8800 series fill the top?

Quite a slap in the face for Ultra/GTX owners really.

Adding insult to injury they start marketing the 8800 series are capable of DX10.1as soon as G80s are discontinued

"Discontinued" doesn't mean "Disconnected".
For instance, even the latest FW 169.01 support the old GeforceFX family (at least in WinXP).

In the VR-Zone review, what do they mean when they mention the number of pixel and vertex processors? I thought the G92 is unified. If they're merely doing a division for maximal number of equivalent units on a previous gen. architecture, why do they come up w/ fewer vertex processors in ratio to the G80?

They got mixed up with the ROP's, i think.
Just a minor typo.

Oh and if 128 SP's is indeed the core maximum and the new GTS is to take 128 SP's, then that might lead credence to the idea that a dual G92 GX2 type card with 1TF power is the next step until a new generation of video cards...

Does anyone have any info on the other SKUs for the G92 ?
