In the end this is 50% ~ 55% more performance than with the RTX 3080 12GB model. RTX 4080 is ~30% faster than RTX 3090 Ti. In extreme 4K, the RTX 4090 seems to be ~ 35% faster than the RTX 4080.

As long as the important branches of the BVH tree fits into the caches, ray tracing should not need very much bandwidth.

But the 3dmark raw ray tracing test result really does look weird.

The port royal test, on the other hand, does not look suspiciously low.

So +50% to 3090Ti, much more in line with what I'd expect!
RT seem to show the best gains which is expected.

+35% in TS/TSE
+45% in PR/PT test

These will probably be close to best case scaling in games too.
