Agreed. Major goals for MS wrt Scorpio: prove the generationless model works;no compromises, no one left behind (proper lifespan obsolescence of older hardware), and cross play and cross buy. If they can prove this value proposition is good and worthy to consumers in their mind, I think I would consider this a success.

If it fails, they have to play Sony's game, which is building a solid rounded out library of exclusives, and it's going to be hard to beat them at their own game.

 

Neogaf has a prediction contest where people guess the NPD results beforehand, whoever is closest wins. The posters who run the contest evidently get NPD results behind the scenes, . The winning prediction was 222k PS4, 157k XBO (XBO and PS4 are the only two systems in the contest). So that is likely pretty close to the actual sales. Especially since there were several guesses close to those numbers that that did not win, so that narrows it down to being pretty accurate.
