PS3 having real problems..

Thats very low for the PS3 although about right for the other consoles. Are these realistic or are they really "just floating around"?

Lol, at first I misread it and saw 295k for PS3, I was thinking 'what's the problem?'...then I looked again..127k??

Too low, I don't believe it.

Well, I know I have a poor track record with this, but these are pretty well confirmed.

Should be confirmed+sources and whatnot within an hour. GAF is already melting down over the PS3 numbers so...

Apparantly 360 needs a price drop to ever overtake PS2..

And Ds totally crushed PSP..so much for closing the gap.

LOL

I wish GAF would just let it go (although I can say the same about a couple of pro xbox sites as well). I havent seen much about any numbers but less than 130k would be a very big drop for the console, although there wasnt any worthwhile releases for the PS3 outside of VF5 (although the same can be said of the 360 and Wii).

Crackdown?

Personally I dont care about Crackdown, but it's expected to dominate the month's software sales.

Though the x360 has the advantage of a bigger game libary and the wii has the advantage of the low price. Shifting 400 for a console with ''lots'' of good games or shifting 250 for a console with a cool controller and alot of hype is alot easier to justify than paying 600 for a console wich doesnt really have a decent amount of games yet.

If confirmed ... these numbers are shocking !
And i don't think, despite how much hyped here and there LBP and home are, that these answers are those awaited by the crowds ...

I don't doubt these may be the numbers (though as always confirmation desired), but they're not surprising either.

I sometimes worry about the people that get *shocked* about every data point they see around here - I fear for their critical thinking abilities. February was a slow month for PS3 game offerings, the console aint cheap, and the competition was strong; not much reason for someone who didn't feel inspired to buy it in January to have come off the fence in Feb. Anyway, I'm interested to see what post-March 23rd numbers start looking like - I think the new firmware should offer a fair bit of appeal. Other than that, it's just waiting for 'killer apps' to be released, be they games or whatever else.

I'm happy with what I've been shown this month though in terms of PS3's future... happy enough that I really don't care if it gets doubled-up on in sales right now. But it's that very satisfaction I'm feeling with what I've seen, that I suspect eventually will translate into PS3 sales to others as well down the road. I mean even for those who choose to be partisan in the war, you gotta admit PS3 looks better now than it did a month ago, even if not on a personal level.

All that aside... good performance by Wii and 360 - I respect your achievements.

I think that the console has not distinguished itself considerably from the 360 to surmount the(huge) barrier of price. Here, in Canada, people are very, very price sensitive...and I've met with a lot of people who invested in a Wii because of it being the cheapest alternative; they have rarely asked about the offering in termes of software. Sony is playing with fire and taking considerable risks, I hope for them that the BR wins the battle, because if not... :???:

I dunno, I've never expected the PS3 to do this bad (if the numbers are right).

Well, me either. I would've been guessing a number similar to Tap In's for the month to be honest.

It's just that, presented with the actual data (if that's what this is), I can't help but have my first instinct be: Well, I see why that would be..., rather than some form of indignation. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I view it as good (how could it be?)... but it just is, what it is. I'm a bigger technology and Sony fan than most; knowing that, I can understand that for the majority of the population, they may be a good ways away from reaching the 'activation energy' required for a purchase (to relate it to enzymatic reactions).

Anyway, I'm off to dinner for the next several hours, but I'm sure I'll be coming back to what turns out to be massive thread full of contentious debate. :)

(Let's try to keep it civil if we might though!)
