No PSP in US in 2004

....

Since SCEI won't be launching PSP and PSX3 in same year, I guess that confirms the PSX3 won't make it in 2005.

MS on the other hand is supposed to show off the Xbox Next prototype in a couple of months..

2005 : Nintendo DS, PSP, Xbox Next, Peripherals to GC
2006 : PSX3
2007 : GBA2
2008 :
2009 :
2010 :

PS. Notice how N5 doesn't show up on my schedule....

...

But you are going up against the word of Yamauchi the almighty, who spoke "No new next generation Nintendo console!!! Anyone who speak of next generation doesn't understand gaming business!!!"

IMO it doesn't seem very wise for MS to launch xbox sa at 2005 if DSN, PSP and GCN peripherals are also launched at the same year.
Even if the launches were spread across the 2005, it would still steal much of the thunder from xbox sa launch.

In addition, xbox fa (and GCN and PS2) is still relatively new console in most potential buyers minds (Halo 2 is supposed to be released in 2005?). I don't see many have a need to replace their consoles yet in 2005, the markets will propably not be yet rady in 2005 for new console gen.

I think the rumoured xbox next is just an update of xbox fa, sort of like PS2 and PSX. With the hard drive and current memcard replaced by some 256-512 MB flash memory card (sold separately). It'll may be able to connect wirelessly (WLAN card sold separately) to home PC that is acting as a server.
At the same time an accesory for original xbox fa will be launched, that allows you to transfer your old HDD data to PC (or is that already possible?), so you can use it in xbox next.

Xbox next includes PC software disc for installing the necessary 'Home Xserver' software that allows you to stream media from PC via xbox next to TV.

My schedule:
2004: PSP (JP), NDS (JP, EU, US)
early 2005: xbox next (US, EU), PSP (US, EU)
early 2006: N5
late 2006: xbox sa, PS3

Edit: Corrected the PSP Eu and US launch to early 2005.

fa = 1st attempt
sa = 2nd attempt

imo they're just as valid names as 'xbox next' 'xbox2' as there is no official name for next gen xbox yet.
...or 'PSX2'

any form of psp wil not come out in 2004 . i seriously doubt jap version will come in 2004

"No new next generation Nintendo console"

Yamuachi said that the sequal to GC would not be released at E3 2005. If anyone else twisted that into no sequal to GC at all I'd be astonished. But the sad thing is I'm not even suprised by it when it comes from you Deadmeat. Because frankly I think your quite mad

My schedule:
2004: PSP (JP), NDS (JP, EU, US)
early 2005: PSP (US, EU)
early 2006: xbox sa
early 3rd quarter 2006:pS3 ,N5

I think xbox2 is going to be the first console to launch, as there've been some indication that MS is further in the development than its competitors.

Xbox 2 is 2006, not 2005 deadmeat.

Teasy,
Yamuachi said that the sequal to GC would not be released at E3 2005

Yamauchi said the successor to gamecube would be there, not the sequel... Saying successor could mean anything really...

Nintendo could also reveal it's next generation console on a Spaceworld like show this year, or during the beginning of next year.

(Between May this year and March next year I think)

N is still in business

Nintendo of America did comment on the situation today, which is quite interesting and voices a similar notion to the corresponding Japanese views:

"Contrary to what has been reported in one Japanese publication, Nintendo is staying in the console hardware business and still plans to launch our next home console in the same timeframe as our competitors. In addition, we are working on a number of complementary technical advances that we believe may significantly enhance the gaming experience. We also continue to look for exciting ways to extend the value of the Nintendo GameCube, and will share those ideas with you in the coming months. Specific details about other accessories or systems and their functionalities haven't yet been made public. However, we will make further information about our next console available in the near future, and we look forward to further demonstrating our record of breakthrough innovation in video game play."

end of story!

Yamauchi said the successor to gamecube would be there, not the sequel... Saying successor could mean anything really...

Yeah he did say successor. Although my point was just that, whatever this successor is, Yamuachi only said it wouldn't be released at E3 2005. So even if its assumed that the "successor" is N5 (which is what Deadmeat is assuming) that doesn't mean it can't be announced at E3 2005.

I don't know why I bothered though to be honest. Because we all know very well that Deadmeat knows this already. He was just massively misquoting Yamuachi in order to try to convince everyone that black is white.. as usual.

I don't think he's trying to convince anyone. No, a simple reaction will do. ;)

Maybe that just means that it won't be called "GameCube 2", which I don't think is surprising, because I would think they'll want to go with a less-cubish, more home-theatre looking design next gen.

Then again, if it looked like this, I'd jump on it.
