No PS3 unveiling event in March - confirmed by SCE

If you want a bunch of press releases, maybe some powerpoint slides, and a few command line demo apps that run for a bit and then print out "GFLOPS PERFORMED PER SECOND = 249.44523424534534 OMGWTFBBQ!!11!" on some jury rigged prototype hardware, sure I guess Sony could do an unveiling.

Otherwise, if you're looking for some impressive demos, my gut feeling is that Sony doesn't have a whole lot worth showing yet.

'Scuse me, 999.314567 GFLOPS per second.

Why am I not shocked...there's only 1 day left in March...at this point I did not expect any announcements in March...especially since Xenon is launching ~1 year ahead of PS3, I wouldn't expect PS3 to be announced/unveiled first.

That's probably for the Sony E3 party. I went there once during E3 a long time ago. They don't do much there but schmooz and booze. ;)

I don't think Sony will be using one of their movie lot sound stages for a schmooze and booze affair.

I smell a big PS3 unveiling extravaganza.

I find it funny they moved it ahead on MS's usual affair on Monday evening. :)

Probably why they cancelled the March event. Someone determined they would make a much bigger splash at E3.
