Just when your fingers are getting sore and your friends keep asking 'Why do you have to switch memory sticks?' Killer-X and the PSP-Dev team have answered our prayers with KXploit, a way to run homebrew on 1.5’s… Minus the memory stick swap!

The predecessor of Swaploit, users will now enjoy no more jammed fingers or broken nails with the introduction of “Direct Loaderâ€￾, and 1.5 users can now pretend they own a 1.0.

One of our users, Gavin King (Thanks), posted a comment on how to do this in its simplest form:

"If any of this confused you.... just do the same thing you did with swaploit, but put both folders on the same memory.

Let's use your NES folder as an example.

Your MS1 folder name "NES%" and your MS2 folder leave it the same, naming it "NES".

And that's all you need to do... a simple rename and move."

You can get it in our PSP Download section here

Awsome. If this is true, methink I shall go pick up a PSP next week! I almost did last weekend, but the major palces I knew of didn't have memory sticks and I was too lazy to dig deeper. :p

OMG, the homebrew pack is a snap and I've been freaking out hunting down/downloading/installing all the GBC & Genesis cartridges I own for it.

The Genesis games look GREAT! I've freaked it looks/plays that well, I've very impressed and excited at the sheer volume of titles to play on mulitple platforms!

OMG, screw the gameboy games! Some of the SNES/Genesis ones look just bloody gorgeous!

Yes! I need to clock the PSP to 333MHz to get most to run at good speed though (uo_Snes9x SNES emu).

Still, I'm making my way through Super Mario World again for the first time in nearly 10 years and I'm absolutely loving it :D

Me too, but it's worth it and since we're playing games off the memory stick battery life is ridiculously good still. ;)

What does MAME emulate? I put that homebrew pack on and now have a bazillion emulators, but I'm not sure what they all do....anyone have any recomends for any games for the various emulators?

I've been playing Legend of Zelda for the NES...damn...I love this emulation on portables so much....

I just can't wait until they optomize the SNES emulator to work on the PSP....I was playing Chrono Trigger but the speed isn't that good (even at 333MHz its still kinda choppy)....and I don't want to keep playing at 333MHz until I hear from people that its cool and your PSP won't burst into flames (unlikely, but I don't want to take that chance...)

I'm freaked at how good the SNES games look on the PSP too, along with the Genesis ones....but they do need a bit of optimizing.

Still, I'm just bloody amazed at all the homebrew exploits/emulators/etc....pure geekiness and my hat is off to 'em for it. 8)

I'm really amazed on how the Homebrew community got these emulators out...I was expecting more time..possibly another year..but I'm happy with what has been released. In time though when these things do get optimized...them i'm going back to the future with these greate old-school games (just downloaded Sonic Spinball...going to play it soon)

Me and my son are like kids in a candy store, his bloody PSP is now a retroclassic godrig!

There is just sooooo much out there, and so many memories for me.

One thing though, them stealth updates the newer games got have actually gotten me worried to buy any official games for the PSP now....I don't want to lose the kewl functionality!

well, you can always get another 1.50 unit and keep it updates-clean.

I got love for Classic games...but not $250 worth of love...

Or I can just hold off buying titles until it's verified if they update or not and either not buy 'em or wait for the next crack to appear before buying them.

The emulator functionality is worth more than the PSP games to me for the thing.

Sega and Nintendo should release official emulators and games. They'd make a killing :D
GODS YES!

Could you see if they worked out a cross licensing deal and you could buy a PSP disk with collections of Sega and Nintendo games optimized for the PSP? That would ROCK!!!!
