No Man's Sky [PS4, PS5, XO, XBSX|S, PC, NX, XGP]

there is no thread for the pc side ! and if a game comes out on console and pc the console portion of the forum drains the life out of the pc post
You can create threads, it's easy. Console owner's seem to manage it. :yep2: Everything is harder when you're a PC owner.

They totally nailed the colours ! It actually feels like the old sci fi ! Loving it for now.

can't find antimatter for the love of my life :D ! BTW, I got thrown into toxic and radioactive planets from the get go :p

aww its bloody expensive in my country (still 10 USD cheaper than US though) due to my country exchange rate diving into the ravine. gonna wait for a couple of review and more comments from fellow B3D-ers

Kinda sucks that we on PC have to wait till Friday, all my youtube/twitter feed is full of no man's sky :D

Hmm. Looks pretty, and impressive given the small size of the team that created it. I think I will wait though. I've seen enough sandbox-style games hyped and die over the past couple of decades. I am in the mood for a relaxing time-sink, but I'm not sure that this is it (which is a shame because I'd like to support a small UK-based dev).

I think that the not-multi-player aspect could prove to be a big mistake. Make-your-own-content games are great, but seems to be that the other couple of space-based-games-that-I-won't-mention have the benefit of the possibility of emergent content via MP.

This game needs some Minecaft type building. Imagine if you could build almost anything on the planet that you found and other players would be able to visit. Ther could be some PvP mecanisms too where if you've claimed the planet as your own, others could invade and start building there too.

I thought the patch added base building?

Really? That'd be great! I think this game has huge potential to expand into a great online space & planetary exploration/strategy/combat game via patches and dlc. Hope it sells well. Hope to get my copy tomorrow.

This game is a fantastic concept, but the fact it looks cartoonish turns me off. I've been watching science fiction all my life and a near photorealistic game like this would be a dream come true. My feeling is that the frame rate is so low because they are extremely CPU bound. With such stylistic and simple graphics, they can't be GPU bound.

Yes cpu bound according to DF analysis.

But then it is confirmed that NMS runs in 30 fps. Ugh...

Didn't they originally pitched it as 60 fps game? Did they overestimate ps4 slow-ass cpu?

Or they increase the procedural generation calculation, thus 60 fps no longer attainable?

So it is 30 fps but pretty stable

what is this, only 30 fps ... I'll play this game anyway, because I'm still interested in the concept (and stupid enough to pre-order the game based on impresions from people who can't recognize 60 fps and that bloody thing started pre-load so refund will be probably refused even if I deleted the game before being playable). But I'm probably done with the consoles, lots of multiplatforms and not enough interesting exclusives is making this decision easy especially when next-gen will focus on 4k instead on better framerates.

I would play this game at 30FPS and 720P if the graphics looked near photorealistic. But instead we get a cartoonish world. I spent almost all my life watching television on a 480i CRT so resolution and frame rate matters little as long as the environments and characters look REAL.
