No Man's Sky [PS4, PS5, XO, XBSX|S, PC, NX, XGP]

Thats what was interesting about that 2014 podcast I linked. he said you all start in one galaxy, but they have made a universe, so more galaxies. He did not want to say even that ut the questions forced that much out.
For marketing purposes, if it's possible to find friends and adventure together, they need to say as much. It's a major selling point and very, very dumb of Hello Games if the game supports that but they refuse to say so.
BTW, daymeeuhn, the guy who has it , says it has lots of bugs :( ! I mean expected, for something like this, but he says the game has crashed like 20 times, usually while warp jumping.
That's kinda worrying considering the multiple delays, but I guess they are missing the Day 1 patch?

Its being advertised as a SP game, so i don't think they even consider that a possibility, atleast not at launch. Cos I don't think ppl would have sufficiently powered ships at launch to reach other. I ex[ect ppl to see others only near the centre of th euniverse, if at all. Even the unboxing video says, single player. same as PSN and Steam Descritpion. What that answer of Sean cleared up was that there are multiple galaxies , not one. Does i

As for the bugs, more ppl will have th egame soon, happens always, lets see what they say and well. hope for th ebest. if there is a day 1 patch then Daymeeuhn hasn't installed it. Cos he specifically said the same thing, that maybe there si a day 1 patch which might solve stuff.

In other news, the guy has stopped screenshots too. he says don't spoil it , the game is full of surprises. Which is very encouraging, honestly, cos it seems the whole vagueness wasn't due to lack of stuff but due to Sean's desire that ppl find it for themselves. If Daymeeuhn finds it special enough to not spoil it for others, it must be good.

but from what I heard @Shifty , the travel is fast as in you cannot go from one solar system to another without warp gates, its just too far, but generally the ttravel is fast, more on the fantasy side than realistic.

To me it looks like Elite Lite with greatly expanded planetary exploration. Land, mine, explore planets (and space), trade and fight but without the stuff they've jammed into Elite Dangerous that some things more of a chore.

I inititally thought this but then I saw all the mining...and upgrading...and mining some more...and stuff like that, I just got turned off. I'd rather just buy and sell like in Elite.

if they can add PSVR support, then the boring space exploration could be much more fun.

If it was on PVSR I'd probably give it a try - but for now I'm on the fence still, will wait for reviews and some 'real' videos (maybe watch someone streaming, I always find that really helpful) before buying.

They've also said you don't need to visit planets or do any mining, you can make money to buy things by trading. Just like Elite :yep2:

definitely sounds like a title worth playing. Its going to stay on my list of games to play, but not a day 1 purchase, seems like I need to carve some time out to appreciate this game.

Of course it's not. But with 2^64 planets, you'd have a passage of thousands/millions through to the centre of them. This guy is suggesting maybe of the order of hundreds of planets to the centre (we've no idea how much planet hopping he did). Or super, duper fast warp speeds which would potentially enable meet-ups if there's a decent navigation system.

A new twist to th estory of th eleaked game:
And this is yet another indication that we may all be playing a pre-launch version, with a Day 1 patch imminent.
he menitoned how particular mechanic made th egame easy and how some of th eupgrades were working the opposite to what they should. The boosters that need to charge were working infinitely . So the unbalanced gameplay mechanics he was mentioning may simply be because this isn't the final game? Thats what he seems to be suggesting.

I think Sean should clarify on this.

As in the guy was scammed and sold a non-final copy? That'd make more sense, and he'll be getting a refund...

Not really sure, man. 2 -3 more people have copies now. Really hoping the broken mechanics aren't there in the game. i can understand bugs, I am ready for even a tech demo experience for this one. But broken mechanics seems too impossible to slip through a final release. Impossible. A mechanic that requires re charging time can be used infinitely without recharging, and its about the basic movement of your ship. It cannot slip though QA.

Yep. No game should launch like that reliant on a Day 1 patch that might never happen (not everyone's online or wants to patch when they first play).

Thats the only part where I feel it could be a non final copy. Otherwise that conspiracy thread seems like hogwash. Sean needs to comment on the broken mechanics at least. If its a patch thats coming, then say that. IF its actually non final copy then say that too.

Exactly. He needs to speak up at this point. Whatever it is, just clear the air as footage is inevitably leaking out as ppl are finding ways to get copies early.
Have asked him on twitter, but I am not sure at what time he checks his tweets or replies.

I watched more than 30 minutes of one NMS PS4 livestream last night.. and it was AMAZING! Great feel of exploration, discovering new things, and need to get materials to fund such explodation. Around every corner is something interesting.
